Dark red with some fading at the rim. Still has some fruit left to it but not much. Medium finish.

This wine sat for a long time in a friend’s collection and we have it open after an hour. The nose is flower shop, some say violets, but floral and oak comes through. The color is deep ruby and legs are prominent . The palate is totally blackberry big time , with notes of tar, and something acidic like orange peel . It has a nice finish and if you have any, I am declaring this is at its peak …

Exactly what to expect from a Sonoma Cab. Really great, probably at its peak, but sadly this is our last bottle of this vintage.

Still has not reached its peak but close. Big strong berries and cherries. You could spend a few hundred more on lots of wine and not get anything as good. Just lucky I still have more.

Drink up, fruit is starting to wane. Solid structured wine with dark fruit nose still present. Pleasant.

After reading other reviews I was a bit worried, but it was fine. Medium bodied. Probably not a real good quality for the price, but not significantly overpriced

A cut above for its price point. Still needs time to show depth of flavors (my bottle was best on 3rd day). Silky with black cherry and some black raspberry fruit. Nice acidity gives lift on the finish. Some coffee and tobacco. Don't drink expecting big wines like Caymus or Venge. Cool site cab.

Decent Cabernet. Lacked depth and complexity.

I've been a huge Rocca Family fan over the years but this wine let me down. From such a great vintage, there is just nothing special here. Just a fairly average cabernet that is overpriced for this quality. Decanted 2 hours. Nice nose, medium to full bodied. Shallow and lacking complexity.

not impressive at this point - it's a bit sweet and lacks a distinct flavor profile for me.

Enjoyable. Great nose, silky and soft. A nice bottle. For a very reasonable price, well worth buying again.

Overall - very nice. Decanted and drank (3/4 of it) over 3 hours. Nose has nice hints of lavendar and baking speice. Attack is initially a tad sweet (sweet cherry), then mellows to reveal some cedar and smokey flavors. Tannins are fine grained and soft (but not silkey). Very enjoyable now... have one more and the luxury to wait a few years to try it again... but don't hesitate to enjoy it now and over the next few years.

poured it through a venturi. Fresh Cranberries on the nose, smooth thick velvety mouth feel. tannins seem perfectly balanced. Leather tobacco prominent taste. 20-25 sec residual aftertaste. Loved the story of Dynamiting the whole hill to make this wine.

A nice cab from this small producer. Was just as good on day 2 as well.

Very dark rich color. Smells amazing - rich fruit, a bit jammy, and a background taste of spice and a bit of onion, long finish. Very outstanding.

had the 2nd half of this wine 24 hours later. At first I though it went on me, was too acidic. Thankfully, it regained yesterday's form as it hit the air. Maintained it's bordeaux subtleties, hints of licorice or black currants entwined with its earthiness makes the a reat value. Glad I bought a case.

Pop and poured & knew right away this is a great effort by the winemaker. Smooth Bordeaux nuances has hints of earthiness but the power or this cab notorious for this region quickly remind you of its heritage. Will have more flavor description tomorrow, as I suspect most of the heat will have burned off & I can get more of its complexity to shine through. I suspect it may improve with more cellaring, but why?

Needs time in the cellar or a long decant. Had over 2 days and it was outstanding on day #2.

This is really good. It has a strong flavor of peach, which I found very interesting. Not what I expected, but good.

OMG! Deep, deep, dark, nearly blackish purple. Opaque. Aromatics were all graphite and licorice with an intriguing herbal edge. More reminiscent of something from Napa or even Sonoma Mountain. Rich and mouthcoating with this great, well-integrated acidity and smooth, sweet, perfectly-balance tannins. This wine is a huge hit! I agree with one of the other authors who said, "Who needs Napa?"! (The '09 drank on the heels was less modern, purple, unctuous or intriguing.)

This wine is a reminder of why I love Rocca wines. Maybe the price point is a little high, but its so well made, with expressive fruit, firm tannins, conservative oak, and lots of deliciousness.

Wine tasting group - blind tasting. Tasting included the 2003 vintage, which was much better. This has potential but needs much more time to integrate the oak with the fruit. Flavors of blackcurrant, leather, tar and tobacco. Tannins still quite strong. Med-long finish
