Post Election ""Drink Your Mood" Tasting...No Orange Wine (House of Nanda - Chicago IL) : This had a late harvest sweetness with enough concentration that enabled it to almost be enjoyable if you weren't paying too much attention. Good enough for an <$15 bottle.

Better last night than tonight. Tonight a little bit of oak is coming through, and that's not helping. On day 1 it was a little more tropical, nice body, a moderately tangy, acidic finish. I don't think this is a terrible value (I think this was $11 or $12), and I always enjoy a good wine from Michigan, but its prbably not going to migrate to the top of my list in this price range.

This wine has good concentration. Good gold color. Apple on the nose. Strong green apple, peaches, mineral and diesel on the taste. Full body, long finish. Very potent. After tasting a few Rieslings from this area, the Rieslings from Old Mission have a more prominent apple component than the wines from Leelanau. Or it seems that way to me at any rate. Good wine.

Ohio vs Michigan Wine Clash 2008; 11/16/2008-11/20/2008 (Ann Arbor, MI & Columbus, OH) : Nice. Quartz-y like structure. Good balance. Tight fruit. Nice integration - good.

Very young, not a crisp Riesling. Needed a bit more time.
