Consumed with dinner at a restaurant, with a dining companion chewing my ear off, so my remarks are time-delayed and rather general, as opposed to a home evaluation for detailed tasting notes. Nose of ripe, dark berry; subtle baking spices; and some freshly plowed humus. Initial few sips were in line with the aroma, but a little tight. Over 30 minutes, the palate gave, in addition, some mild cedar, tobacco, strawberry, graphite, and delightfully chalky tannins. The acidity and EtOH …

Delicious ripe dark red cherry and dark berry flavors with spice and oaky notes on the nose and smooth palate with a moderate long finish.

Hitting it's stride and delicious. It has substance and structure but is open and hits many parts of the palate. The finish is long and the taste of cola, dark cherry and just a hint of black raspberry lasts.

Needed a good hour of air to settle. Black raspberry, plum, orange peel, red cherry, a touch of ink, herbs, and earth on the nose. Tart cherry, red cherry, plum, spice, earth, and herbs on the palate. Tangy acidity, lightly grippy tannins, med-long finish. Flirts a bit with heat, though it was less noticeable after a day. Really nice Gap's Crown wine. Could stand up to a nice steak.

This wine opens with notes of cherries and strawberries, complemented by a touch of vanilla. Medium-bodied with moderate acidity, it is fresh, balanced, and pleasantly fruity.

It's ok. Ripe upon opening, the sweet fruity flavors begin to recede and gain a little bit more complexity after one or two hours of air. Nice enough, some persistence and length, horrible QPR, not a repeat purchase.

Pale Ruby color. Pronounced aromas of cherry, cranberry, baking spice and cola. High acidity, very soft tannins, medium alcohol. Pronounced flavors aligned with the aromas. Long finish.

My first bottle of the ‘21 Russian River. Medium bodied Pinot with cherry, cranberry, nice acid structure -very faint heat on the finish. Full mouthfeel and medium finish. Delightful now but Plenty of time to let this one evolve in the bottle-

This wine is a crowd-pleaser with abundant fruity notes, though a bit too fruity for my palate. It has moderate tannins that could benefit from some aging.

Ripe concentrated red cherry cola fruit. Firm backbone with a sweet but oaky finish. There is no confusing this for anything other than California Pinot Noir. Not my style but I can see why people love it.

Tasted side by side with Kistler 2021 Russian River. Very different style -great structure more full bodied , less minerality than the Kistler-dark currents, wet stone, wonderful mouth feel, long finish. Paired with veal pot pie in a white sauce it was divine-opened up after 45 min decant-Gaps Crown vineyard always produces terrific fruit-

Really cuts above the rest. Was drinking this right after a 2021 Central Coast Williams Selyem, and the quality and sweetness of this Kosta Browne showed night and day.

Kosta Browne's 2021 Anderson Valley Pinot requires extensive aeration at this early stage in its evolution. Initially popped and poured, it showed very little after the first hour in glass. Accordingly, it was decanted through a Vinturi aerator (which is something that I would typically never do with this varietal). Shortly thereafter, it was poured from carafe and absolutely blossomed into something special. Deep ruby/red in color, it unfurls an aromatic profile of red bramble fruits, dark plums, nectarines, sage, …

Oaked strawberry compote with a silky finish. Drinking well after a few hours of air. While inoffensive and a crowd pleaser, I personally found nothing of interest in this wine. This is indeed a solid pinot noir, but perhaps a bit too aggressively priced.

Color is dark but translucent garnet. Nose is very nice red fruit, oak, sweet spice, light florals, wet earth, some alcohol. Palate is medium bodied, good weight for a pinot noir. Notes of cherry, oak, sweet spice. Overall, very nice and relatively straightforward, not the most intellectual, but one of my recent favorite pinots. A crowd pleaser with the family. Paired with albóndigas soup nicely.

Extremely dark color with a red hue on the rim Taste of red fruit but not very tart. More of a balance of fruit flavors here. Acidity is in check. Mid palate delivers more of the same of what I’m tasting initially I do also get some spice and Darker fruit flavors but it wanders off after a few seconds off the swallow. I let this breathe in the decanter for about 2 hours. Maybe hour n a half. Slight …

Listen, if I'd wanted Goldeneye, I'd have bought Goldeneye. Since the purchase by Duckhorn, I feel like the winemaking styles have merged. I'm sure they would tell you that they're run independently, but I have observed in my tasting, and in the notes on CT, that KB has, over time, become more full-bodied, lush, and, dare I say, sweet? There's already a lot of that kind of Pinot in the marketplace, and at a much lower price point, so, uh... …
