*** See previous notes Not a lot of changes at all. Drink cellar cool. Chewy, meaty, jammy. Morphing into an amarone in some ways. Sediment was present. Drink now or hold. Went nicely with burgers.

Drank with 1.4kg bone-in ribeye steak reverse sear over bbq charcoal grill. Decanted 30 min to an hour before drinking. Deep purple in colour, medium nose with strong cherry, plum and other black fruits. High level of sweetness in the wine but overall pairs nicely with the saltiness from the steak, but also good for easy drinking. Medium tannin, low to medium acidity, full body, medium finish. Good, but might want to decant longer before drinking. Unlikely to improve much …

Yes... a real treat! It starts with a beautiful dark red purple, real beauty. Medium body. Low to medium acidity tanines. Perfectly smooth. Then the aroma... a unique soft and gentle mixture of blackberries, blueberries, raspberries strawberries, vanilla and chocolate then cinnamon, licorice and raisin. Long and notable sweet ending. Really wonderful! Now... I am sure there will be people that will say too "Jamie" it oaky... not me. Loved it.

Très beau mélange, nez puissant, belles notes de cerise rouge, très sec, légers tannins mais bien balancés avec le sucre naturel sans être sucré. Léger chêne en fin de bouche qui donne des soupçon de graines de café. Très agréable

Dark ox-blood in color. Full bodied locomotive wine Some oak, meaty game, herbaceous notes Thick, jammy, and grippy. Lots of tannin. Medium plus finish. A nice full bodied wine best paired with red meats. More of a food pairing wine. I'll save my last bottle for around two years out. Good value.

Plum monster with deep chocolate notes, we had a wonderful lunch catch-up at Champignon over the weekend but E and S both found this overly sweet as did I. This Abruzzo ???? is an overly complex blend of 5 grapes, and I found it all rather confusing ?? Forgot to mention this must be one of the thickest walled Wine glass bottles we had ever held in our hands, heavy!!

Now I’ve finally learnt what kind of wines Macroni gives 99p to. Full bodied, dark fruit, and lots of oak without any elegance. This one has some additional complexity in forms of spices, cloves and tobacco. Not my style but still high quality and a pretty good wine. No need to cellar.

Sorry, but no. Not good balue for money. No idea what they did to the five grapes coming from 5 different corners of italy, but the result is a “crowd pleasing”, sweet, “deep” wine that says nothing. Barr advanced chemistry. Very phenolic, aftertaste like cognac, this leaves you hammered after two glasses. Given the price point unacceptable. Most of revenues probably went into the absurdly heavy bottle to underscore the “premium” status of this industrial failure.

It pours a deep reddish purple into the glass and after a moment or two the bouquet almost erupts from the glass. Intense notes of cherries, blackcurrants, cinnamon, cloves, mocha and herbs awake the senses. The wine is big and powerful, structured and balanced, yet elegant and smooth. Good right out of the bottle, it is better with an hour decant. The wine will last 10 or more years in your cellar, but is amazing right now.
