Dense and brooding. Needs some air to open up but never really got beyond it's brooding phase. Well made, but not very exciting

I can’t decide which is worse, the wine or extra long wine bottle that doesn’t fit anywhere including a box or a wine fridge. Not that you’d want to keep in in a wine fridge.

A good wine. Relative to the 2017 tastes younger with stronger tannins.

Rich but not heavy consistency, hint of roasted vegetables in the aroma mixed with dusty grape skin and port. Delicious flavors of black currant and cabernet.

Nice nose - good mid palate and a bit flat on the finish. If you have this wine, you should drink it sooner rather than later. We decanted for about 30 Minutes prior to drinking. I recommend leaving it in the bottle-do a pop and pour.

Outstanding for a 14 yo bottle. Dark garnet in color with slight brixing with complex nose of black current & mild pepper. Deep complex but subtle & balanced flavors of black fruit, cigar box & mild white pepper with smooth tannins - a well balanced merlot blend that has great complexity.

A little astringent at first; benefitted from using the Vinturi and being open for a few hours. I would recommend leaving for another year or two.

Starting to loose it's fruit. Still a nice bottle though.

A friend and I tasted this at the winery on 3/18/11. It had a terrific, complex and harmonious bouquet of blackberry, black cherry, black currant, cocoa, spice and licorice aromas. The palate was subtle, harmonious and tasty with flavors that followed the nose. 91+

Decanted. Decent amount of sediment. Right out of the bottle it was very fresh and lively. Hints of smoke and brown sugar. Color was deep red. After about three hours in the decanter the color was start to brick. Still a fairly tannic and drying wine, but enough fruit on the back end to balance it out. This wine is drinking really well right now, but it has the stuffing to go on for a while longer. Not sure if …

Tasted 11/19/07 about an hour out of the cellar along prior to the 1998 Freemark Abbey Cabernet Bouche. It easily beat it. A full and delicious nose and a medium to full bodied pallet and a nice finish. Don't think it will get much better than it is right now.

Great wine that is ready to drink now but can sit for another 5 years and be awesome. Dark garnet in color with complex nose of black current & mild pepper. Deep complex but subtle & balanced flavors of black fruit, cigar box & mild white pepper with smooth tannins - a well balanced merlot blend that has great complexity. This bottle needs about 30 minutes to open up but drinking very well.
