Pavette Pinot Noir

I was blown away with the nose on this wine. Black tea and sassafras wafted from the glass. On the palate sweet cranberry, baking spices, and bergamot along with blue and black fruits. All of this was beautifully balanced and dare I say nuanced. Seriously for $17 retail this is a unicorn. Maybe because of the price point I was expecting much less, but oh how wrong I was! Decent, tasty Pinot with both Napa and Sonoma roots. This Pavette shows some refined earthiness that is easy on the palate. Good amount of of quality oak on the nose and palate. Upfront hit of really nice cherry that punches above the price point.

It is what it is. Some cherry and raspberry. Lots of earthy notes and some mushroom.
