Cieck Erbaluce di Caluso

Have not tried this varietal before. I found it refreshing and crisp. Very nice wine with light seafood appetisers for warm evenings.

Première expérience avec le cépage Erbaluce qui est un blanc piémontais. Au nez, des arômes délicats d'agrumes (citron, pamplemousse), de fleurs blanches et une touche d'amande fraîche. En bouche, l'attaque est vive et minérale. Une belle acidité tranchante qui apporte de la tension, équilibrée par une texture légèrement grasse. On retrouve les agrumes, notamment le citron vert, accompagnés de notes de pomme verte et d'une salinité subtile en finale. Un vin élégant et digeste. 3***

PNP 30 mins out of the fridge and into a Zalto Universal. Consumed with warm lobster roll, creamy coleslaw and potato chips. Clear light yellow with a hint of green. Nose primarily of limestone with some floral notes. More viscous than I expected and coats the mouth well with some useful acidity. Mouth drying on the finish.

A: pale lemon N: ripe pear, apple, honey, delicate white flowers, saline, white almond P: dry, high acidity, med soft waxy texture, 12.5% ABV, med (-) body C: very good = balanced vibrant acidity and ripe pear/apple, med intensity, med (+) concentration, med (+) finish on white almonds and ripe pear. Drink now or over coming 5 years.

Restrained nose of caramel dipped green apple, lemon, lemon grass, ginger. Medium+ acid, light and racy on the palate, with a grippy finish. Very refreshing and excellent food pairing wine.

Whole cluster pressing, 14 days fermentation in stainless steel, no malolactic fermentation Aged 4 months on the lees. Nose is floral, leesy, sort of air freshener like notes. Complex, with flinty notes and minerality. Mild fruit, pear and some melon. Very interesting.

Medium gold in color. High acid, very dry, light body, medium alcohol. On the nose this was my grassy & innerally. There were hints of pepper (white) and almond. Almost no fruit in the nose or the palate. Very clean finish with a light mouth feel.

Erbaluce di Caluso continues to produce an outstanding Erbalance (we have enjoyed several of their earlier vintages). Light straw yellow color in the glass with fragrant aromas of fresh apples and lemons with hint of floral notes. On the palate, light and refreshing fruit flavors mirroring the wine’s aromas. Vibrant and zesty at mid-palalte with pleasant finish.
