Babcock Cabernet Sauvignon New Epoch Reserve

Opened, poured with a garnet coloring, no bricking on the rim. A flavor profile of cherry, black currants, cassis along with some leather, tobacco and vanilla. The tannins have faded leaving a pretty well balanced, smooth wine, ready to drink.

This wine was actualy Epoch. The name does describe this juice. Bigger than some of Babcocks other cabs, this wine was filled with tar leather cassis and a touch of slate. it was delicious! I wish I had 1 more bottle!

Silky smooth, no tannins to speak off. Very dark, with lots of expresso and tabacco. No anise notes, just lots of creamy black fruit. Very drinkable, very accessable.

There would be no mistaking this in a blind tasting. This is textbook new world Cabernet Sauvignon. Cherry and black currant with a hint of tobacco on the nose. Lots of cherry with black currant, some vanilla mixes with the fruit on the mid-palate. Tobacco and bell pepper on the finish. Silky tannins.
