Fantastic wine. Good now but can still rest in the cellar.

Decanted - deep dark garnet red color, again fair amount of sediment on the side the bottle laid, at 30 minutes the nose as hints of fruit and grape + there is flavor mainly at front of mouth, so still quite tight and needs more air. At 60 minutes has opened well with fruity grape mix (cab & petit) flavor and a lingering flavorful aftertaste. Evacuated and kept 1/2 a bottle to the next day. While it lost a little …

Decanted (75% Cab, 25% Syrah), abundant sediment in bottle (1/2 of bottle on side!), deep dark purple, initially tight and alcohol dominated, 45 minutes later - red berry/cassis nose, flavor is rounder and smoother but still tight is hard with some tannin. Needs more breathing. At 75 minutes, flavor is strong at front of mouth with tannin tightishness in middle and now finishing smoothly with good aftertaste - overall becoming grapy (Cab + some of the Syrah) in flavor. Probably …

Yum! Big, full, balanced wine. Plenty of fruit, acid, tannin and good finish. Drinking well now and expect it would age well. But why wait?

Good color, body and clarity. This wine has become more soft and round but less complex as time has gone by. Not as good as it was a year ago but still excellent!

A tuff call here, had it side by side with a Domaine Serene Pinot, It seem over extracted but I assume that’s because of the stlye difference. It certainly was easy to drink and would rebuy. Drink now.

Root Day - another ‘found in the cellar’ wine. Dark garnet core out to a wide raspberry red edge. Interestingly, that’s what I got immediately off the nose on a pop and pour - raspberry compote and red roses. After a couple of minutes, along with the aforementioned, there’s vanilla and sweet cooking herbs. On the palate it’s ripe and smooth but there’s enough tannin and acid there to keep it interesting. Simple flavours of red plum, raspberry, strawberry and …

You are doing this wine a disservice if you don’t let it breathe at least 45 minutes. It blossoms from basically good to amazingly complex with air time. Love this stuff.

The Treana label capitalizes on the trifecta of elements that make Paso Robles ideal for winemaking: sun, soil, and the sea. From vineyards that ripen intensely flavorful Cabernet Sauvignon, Treana sculpts bold, intense red wines that remain smooth, elegant, and refined on the palate. The 2015 red blend is an opaque and powerful combination of spicy, smoky Syrah and burly Cabernet Sauvignon that explodes with ripe, jammy fruit, and spicy, Mexican chocolate and coffee aromas About the wine The Hope …

jammy with low alcohol and medium low acidity. Quite extracted with a touch of vanilla. The wine has good persistence however and I would understand why some people would like it.

Dark berry and spice scents. Medium tannins for a big, fruity wine. Should cellar reasonably well for several years. I bumped up my rating given the quality/price ratio.

Pretty neat! Delicious, lush fruit , quiet tannins , long finish. Had this with lamb stuffed portobello mushrooms and it was a great fit. The wine got softer during the evening. It is a bit fat on the alcohol at 15, but all in all a very nice wine. I would think it is at a peak place right now.

What this red blend lacks in complexity, it more than compensates for in outright deliciousness. Lusty, without being pruney. Last of my 6 bottles, and every time it made me feel like I was wandering through the vineyard where the grapes were grown. Boysenberry, earth, and spice.

Dark red plum, 80% opaque. Big purfume and dark raspberry. Sweet black cherry, incense, slightly drying mid palate where chalk mouthfeel shows up. Oak note and a touch of heat on the finish. Bit of chambord.

Perfumy nose dominated by clove, similar to a seasoned rice pudding. Deep opaque plum in color. The palate was reminiscent of mulled wine with dark fruit. Quite interesting, should have paired some snacks with it.

We first had Treana white at The Grape in Atlanta about five years ago and liked it so much we bought six bottles a week later. We decided to try the red and initially did not like it. This 2008 though is very good and has potential for cellaring for a few years (I wish we had more). It is a bit fruity (not a fruit bomb though) and went very well with the fillet mignon.

We liked it right out of the bottle. Well integrated flavors - fruit was dominant but certainly not a "fruit bomb." Wish I had more! Went very well with Robin's BBQd flank steak!

Very jammy raspberry-blackberry; upfront fruit and black-jack gum; medium plus body with lots of pure fruit, mouthfilling; just a hint of cabernet tobacco notes too. Good Paso Robles Syrah-Cabernet blend for those who like big bold wines.

This wine had a nice vivid fresh purple color; you could pick out the syrah off the nose almost immediately. The taste was very smooth with hints of ripe red and muted black fruit, clove, and a little grease with a balanced finish that sat around without too much tannin for such a young new world wine.
