This is a pleasingly complex wine. So much so that I was startled when I first tasted it. Aroma is very rich. A bit of must and mushroom. Wood in the form of fresh cut oak. A potent and controlled tannin opens the palate for a warm, enveloping mouth feel, wherein the alcohol lifts the complex taste to a new level of deliciousness. The elements are distinct and balanced. Earthy tones, pleasing astringency with creamy mouth-feel. Scwer top. Decant and …

Consistent with my previous tasting note. Very tasty sitting around the campfire.

Deliciously pungent, wet smokey aroma. Deep dark flavor, light tannins, juicy fruit with a long finish.

I found this to be deeper and more complex than the '06 which was a fruity fun wine, maybe a couple more years will change it, but it is a really very good wine right now, just different from the last vintage

This wine was quite a surprise with a nose of rich licorice and black cherry. In the mouth, it is silky smooth with tastes of black cherry and blackberry. Nice balance and good structure. The finish presents blackberry, black cherry, licorice and just a slight bit of oak on a medium plus finish. This is stellar for this price point. I have found Pinotage to be a varietal that most either love or hate especially due to the pinotage funkiness …
