Saturday Burgundy tasting at K&L Redwood City : Reductive nose, even though this had been open for a little over three hours. Heavy on the matchstick. On the palate, there's a little pear, with cactus flower/prickly pear poking through. Citrus zest, more orange than lemon. This needs a long time to unwind. Maybe 10, 10+ years?

Chateau de Maltroye Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 2, Visit 3) (Chassagne-Montrachet) : Barrel tasting in the cellar. Also very precise with good length and moderate weight, but nice nuance already in sight.
