Bazigos Robola of Cephalonia

Nose a little alcoholic but otherwise no complaints. Apple and stonefruit on the palate with some elements of lemon but not as zingy as you would get from, say, Assyrtiko. In fact a pillowy body with balanced acidity, super easy to drink. Transports us right back to Kefalonia.

Light greenish straw color. Lemony, chalky, and salty. Excellent intensity and balance of those three textbook Robola elements. Refreshingly robust powdery acidity with broad linear direction. Exceeded expectation overall, but strong overripe-apple-like anise aftertaste (sometimes found in southern Italian) is making it difficult to enjoy on its own. Excellent with seafood in general. 88-90 (wide range).
