Earthy red fruits strawberry, cherry, tobacco, tannins and acid were still relatively strong, glass 2 seemed so much like a burgundy day two better corovin day 1, quite a bit of sediment

Solid Bordeaux at age 25. Little visual sign of aging. Medium boy, silky tannins. Blackberry fruit and earthy notes. Last bottle

Deep ruby/garnet, lavender, blueberry, tobacco, smoke, cherry, loam, sweet pine. High acid and tannins, full body, long finish. Drinking great now, but can hold.

I agree with previous notes. Past its shelf life. Wasn't really worth drinking.

Very floral notes, feminine. Lots of tertiary notes showing nicely. Reduced red and black fruits. Drink now and enjoy

Decent Bordeaux left bank. Had expected it to develop in a more positive direction. However, still youthful with a lot of primary aromas/flavours of black fruit; blacberry, dark cherry, black currant. Secondary aromas/flavour of cedar and pencil beam. Not very pronounced tertiary aromas/flavour, but hints of forest floor and leather. Well balanced wine, with a long finish. Lacks the wow-factor, and I am a bit concerned about the course tannins that sems not to smoothen significantly. I'll give it another …

Much improved from the last bottle in 2021, the acidity is much more apparent, giving the fruit a crispness lacking before. The fruit has evolved too, towards more red fruit and less black, so red rather than dark cherry, a touch of redcurrant, but with now some very silky blackcurrant blending with the red fruits on the finish. Altogether very impressive and enjoyable - if outclassed by the Sociando Mallet 2001 tasted alongside. It's a very good wine but not …

Beautifully mature. On the nose: scorched earth, black currants, dried plum and dark cherry. Good acid, tannin and body. Well balanced and perfect with Lamb for Greek Easter!

Mature Margaux brimming with notes of earth, chocolate, balanced dark fruit, nicely integrated tannis and oak. Very enjoyable and worth seeking out. Love Cantenac Brown in general and the 2000 was firing on all cylinders. Drank along side the 2000 Pontet Canet. Both In wonderful spots.

Wow! This was really special. I expected it to be young but actually it is drinking perfectly now, though will undoubtedly go on for many years. Great depth and warmth, leather, cake spice but still quite primary with a great concentration of blackberry and blackcurrant. Medium though still grippy structure. medium plus weight. Long and complex. Drink now and through the next 10 years.

A classic Bordeaux nose with cedar, blackcurrants, black cherry, as well as some dried flowers, smoke and earth. The medium-bodied palate continues mostly with the same theme, adding medium acidity. Fine-grained, mostly resolved tannins and long finish, tapering towards the acids. Classy, well in balance, with no single element sticking out. In a good spot now, the oak being integrated well and some tertiary tones starting to emerge, but still enough fruit left. Drink now or hold for a short …

The 1st of 3 bottles acquired about a year ago as part of a much larger cellar purchase. Superb and completely mature but not tired or fading in any way - drink or hold and with proper cellaring this wine still has a long way to go. I think that along with good provenance and cellaring this also reflects what an exceptional vintage 2000 was in Bdx. 65% cab sauv, 25% merlot and 10% CF from old vines from the …

This wine was supposed to be past its prime, but this really delivered with some steaks! Deep garnet color. Strong, full on Bordeaux body yet gentle, tannins and minerals giving way to blossoming dark fruit with some cherry over an hour. Should decant for at least 90 minutes.

After 30 minutes to air, deep red color, aroma and taste of cherry, raspberry. Very easy to like and consume: accompanied a mushroom + fontina risotto and a comparison bottle of 2000 Ch Brane-Cantenac (also quite nice!) No signs of over-aging with either bottle.

For me, this is one for the long haul. At the moment, I find it too lush, chunky and unctuous. There is certainly plenty of fruit, mainly blackberry and red cherry, but the lack of freshness and of a backbone made it hard work. I'm reasonably optimistic this could sort itself out, because from time to time the lushness cleared to reveal some much more appealingly crisp blackcurrant, like sunny spells on a cloudy day. So fingers crossed.

This is an example of losing a bottle in the cellar and it becomes a real winner. Nose of cigar box, black cherry, spring flowers, barnyard, and forest floor, same on the palate, big body, delicious, very tasty, 3 points less the second night so time to enjoy is right now, almost juicy, rich, complex, and a flavorful finish and aftertaste. Photo uploaded shows sediment coating the bottle due to long time storage.

Decanted 2 hrs. Not the most exciting margaux, but well made and elegant. Maybe a bit too light, mature, pleasant wine

Overall a decent wine, if not a little one-dimensional. Tannins were there but relaxed. Had good acid, but what little fruit was there faded fast. Vanilla and baking spice aromas dominated the nose and the acid dominated the taste and finish. Not bad, but needed the layered fruit aromas and flavors for balance. Went well with braised short ribs as the acid really helped cut through the fat.

Beautiful wine. Elegant, smooth, light bodied, soft. Very feminine. Dried flowers, light fruit, coffee, smoke. Really lovely and wonderfully mature. Drinking great, at late maturity but not overly mature. Excellent.
