Limited notes taken. Pours a medium garnet. Expressive nose of dried red berries, sour cherry, cranberries, mushrooms, forest floor, and fermented grass. Palate confirms the nose with good depth and concentration but there is a noticeable lack of complexity, which should have developed by this point. Pleasing texture.

Quite impressed with this. Light in the glass, a touch of bricking, just a touch of cloudyness. The nose is bright and lifted of cherries, pomegranate, crushed rock, and light touches of green plant stems, cardamom, and grapefruit zest. The palate has lovely texture and mouthfeel. Tannins are low and the acid is medium. Mellow and finishes medium. 91-92, but I giving it the benefit of the doubt.

Hmmm. I understand that the fruit quality is probably not the best from this widely-distributed-locally négoce brand, but if this is a twenty-year-old-wine, I'll eat a small but densely-woven hat. Upon opening it hardly gave any indication of development and mostly smelled like robust California pinot; almost no bricking to be seen, and only after an hour+ of air did it give a bit of sous-bois that indicated some age. This wine was spectacular right out of the bottle and I would not recommend any time in a decanter. Nose of black fruit, blackberry, blueberry, ripe black cherry, cinnamon, vanilla, spice and tertiary notes of forest floor and mushroom. In the mouth the wines portrays beautiful balance with its medium alcohol completely hidden by velvety soft tannins and a touch of acidity on the finish. Not my 1st time having this Burgundy red but was very disappointing from my previous trying of this wine. I let this wine decant for an hour & unfortunately it was just ordinary with a lack of body & complexity. Certainly was a very easy drinking red that has most likely passed its prime, very disappointing for a legendary 20 year old Burgundy.

P&P. Cork intact but wine had travelled half way up. Appearance: starting to brick, with a watery rim; no sediment in glass or bottle. Savoury, with hints of soy sauce. Smooth tannins. Drink up!

Tout est en place, c'est rond, fondu, équilibré, un peu sucré mais avec une pointe d'acidité, pas mal de fruits rouges, une bonne longueur et des tanins somme toute discrets et soyeux. Délice! Part of a 2 bottle taste test with Patrice for New Year's Eve this wine out of the bottle showed hints of amber/brown color in the decanter and with no sediment in the bottle. Amazingly this still has some fruit flavour still. Cherry and raspberry notes on the nose and palate. Super refined, smooth and balanced. Licorice, tar and violets make this almost Barolo like for me. Still a little acidity. Finish is medium. This at peak, if not already starting to diminish. Drink now.
