Nose of red currant and cherry with hints of cedar, cherry licorice, brown sugar and brown spices. Velvety tannins with a rich, red palate. Bright, almost candied cherry fruit, currant with vibrant acidity along with hints of rhubarb and a somewhat savory herbal note. Plenty of life left in it so should cellar well for years to come.

First bottle in nearly a year. The bright "black fruit" of previous tastings has settled down. Gripping tannins, with a very strong structure have appeared. Bolt that with prunes, plums and black olives, you have a merlot wine that has a great amount of structure that could age very well. We found as the wine opened up there was a bit more allspice and black pepper in it.

- Crimsom color and aromas of black pepper, cherry and blackberry. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of blackberry and black currant with a medium/full body. Leathery texture with a short finish - Rich nose of fruit baked goods.

a little bit of smoke and cedar on the nose. Some blackberries and sour cherry. A bit tart but nice. Nicely intergrated tannins and quite dry. could hold up for a few years but drinking well now

After letting this wine open for about an hour, it's a real treat. Classic Napa merlot, though light in appearance, it's fairly big tasting. The 2009 merlots from Napa are really starting to bring their game!

beautiful merlot. Structured / strong tannins. Mix of red/dark berries. Classic merlot flavor - lighter color than expected. Great trefethen classic - will cellar!

Silky smooth with very nice white pepper spice and lasting fresh green herbs. Softened and muted tannins, as a traditional Bordeaux drinker I find this especially attractive. A very well made wine.
