Babcock Sauvignon Blanc Soulstruck

Past its prime.

Interesting wine. Rating is rather difficult as it is not a typical Sauv Blanc. It’s either a “very American” Sauv Blanc, or a “European” Chardonnay. It has richness, thickness, creaminess, and a touch of butter. There is some of the tartness and acidity at the very end. So, give it a low rating? But it’s an excellent wine. Wine was okay. Nothing note worthy.

Sauvignon Blanc done Cali style. High alcohol. full round body. ML and oak obvious and delightful. Rich tropical fruit. Lengthy finish. Would buy again.

Not the typical Sauvignon Blanc. Seems more fatty and dense. Pleasant nevertheless.

Fermentation must have taken place at a really cold temperature. The wine is doing the banana thing. Banana on the nose and banana on the palate. Hard to drink. Did not finish bottle.

Out of balance with a funny effervescence

Aromas of fresh hay complemented with melon and citrus (lime?) undernotes. Very smooth almost to the point of being rich as opposed to dry like a Sancerre. Medium straw coloring and ready to drink!

Darker slightly from Napa SB; Fishy, soapy, less sweet and less herbacious; Ligher body; burning sensation at back of mouth, throat. (that’s the tannin from the oak). Not too pleasing; particular taste--a little “cat pee”.
