Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, chocolate, cedar, sweet spices, actually it's almost got a choc-mint ice cream note. With time the fruit tends to Cassis but also gets a bit fruit lozenge. Woof! Huge palate weight, massive black fruit with a touch of prune as well the Cassis and black currants, tannins are drying but still relatively silkily textured. Richly fruited, showing a touch of milk chocolate and sweet cassis fruit. It had good chew and some tobacco leaf on the finish.
