Vinroc Wine Caves Cabernet Sauvignon

Cork fell apart so I was kind of worried but I strained out the pieces and the wine turned out quite good. Lots of spice and nice cab nose. 4 hour decant but really started showing well around hour 5. Became very complex. Long finish. I read a lot of unflattering reviews on this wine and I was happily surprised that, at least for me, this turned out to be a very good napa cab that was worth the price. …

Pretty good bottle. Not great. Decanted for 2+ hours and drank over 2 more. The tannins weren't integrated enough. I like structure but the wine just felt a little disjointed. There are a great many cabs I would choose before this bottle in the $50-$100 price point.

7.5/10 - Good juicy flavours with delicious dark red fruits and blackcurrant. Tannins are still relatively obvious but not obnoxiously so. Alcohol while not particularly strong on the nose, brings some heat to the palate. Nice streak of acidity to balance the otherwise heavy flavours. Overall a really decent Napa cab which could do with a few more years to even out.
