South African Puligny Montrachet. Rich, sinuous nose with a touch of overt oak. Cream, nuts, lemon. On the palate it is fresh, mineral, with great length and a bit of phenolic bite in the finish. Fresh red apples, lemon curd, petrichor. Excellent. There is a bit of weight there too but the middle drops a bit.

Pale lemon. Medium plus intensity on the nose with apple, pear, peach, lemon, flint, biscuit, cream, almond and saline notes. Developing. Pronounced and dry on the palate with some toast flavours coming through. Medium plus body, high alcohol, high acidity, long finish. Too young. A bit shy on the nose. Refined. But needs some time. Seems tight now but has potential. Score conservative as should be upside.

A very pure and precise Chardonnay. The bouquet mixes almost austere chalkboard characteristics with buttery, almond whiffs and nice lime touches. The palate is quite intense but not big; acidity and stuffing are very well balanced. In an old world context it reminds me of a Chablis with extra punch. Highly recommended and probably quite age worthy.
