This had beautiful fruit on the classic terroir Pinot nose. It had some nice black currant in this medium bodied wine. It was very smooth. Drank both bottles. The first was decanted for about 4 hours and drank completely differently(MUCH better) than one decanted and consumed within the hour. (

Tastes smoother and rounder now than I remember it tasting previously. Age has done good for the taste. However the bouquet seems less complex than before. 50+5+11+17+8=91

2009 Memorial Day Tasting; 5/24/2009-5/25/2009 (Willamette Valley, Oregon) : Their notes: "This wine, from the highest elevation in our vineyard, is amazingly complex and concentrated. The wine offers exceptionally dense black fruit flavors - predominantly black cherry - without being aggressive on the palate, It is youthful and fairly firm, yet incredibly well balanced. It is replete with soft, dusty tannins that accentuate its power." My notes - This is a beautiful pinot. Complex - still very well structured. Drinks …

The other Pinot from this producer was the 05 Witness Tree Hanson Pinot Noir. It was a fuchsia/deep ruby/black cherry color. The nose also gave some black cherry scents as well as sweet red cherries and some vanilla faintly in the background. Tastes of sour cherry, tart plums and dark berries with lots of structure give promise of a great future but let it breathe and it is very nice already. 50+5+12+16+8=91

Perhaps a recent addition to the list at Witness Tree given the absence of TNs by noted contributors. A fairly low production wine. Dark purple red, pungent aroma, dense and concentrated, dark fruits abundant, but with leather and tannins and spices, chewy and lingering. But shouldn't it be for $48?
