Robertson Winery Gewürztraminer Special Late Harvest

Pleasant and undemanding. Slightly sweet with a bit of acidity; I thought it was fairly well-balanced. The texture was average -- not smooth but not harsh either. Not much on the nose, but the flavor was nice. It paired well with Easter dinner, and several family members who never drink wine commented that it was one of the best wines they'd ever tasted. Although not my personal favorite, I think this is a good bottle to keep on hand.

Off-dry, clearly gewurztraminer, but lacks the vibrancy I find attractive in good gewurz. I think South Africa is just too warm a climate for gewurz. Better examples can be found for a similar price in Washington state, for example.
