2 hour decant. Smooth, lush - hints of brick on pale red - some honey over red cherries in the mouth - really a pretty decent drop for a wine this old - fair finish.

Enjoyed at a recent wine group tasting. This was a wonderfully funkalicious and decently complex mid bodied wine. The $9 price tag makes it an extra special QPR. I will be reviewing the 08 and 09 in the future as well since that is all that is available to me locally and I just had to pick up some more for the cellar!

Nose surprised me with cigar box. Very light colored wine. Not much body. Dried red fruit. Restrained. A little cola, leather, and tobacco, but yes, very light. A departure from the usual.

There's just no concentration of flavor. This may be a silly complaint for a $9 wine, but the 2006 vintage was so bright and juicy and delicious that this is a major let-down for me. Vegetal notes in the midpalate detracted from the light but otherwise nice fruitiness.

Not quite as fruit-forward as the 2006, which was one of my favorite cheap drinkers. Still quite tasty, simple, and drinkable.

Light refreshing and soft. Smooth finish. Very good for every day wine.

Need to drink sooner than later. Flavors not as soft as last year.

Light to medium wine, soft fruit, deep colour.
