This was fairly simple. Easy drinking just not that interesting.

It would seem the Burgundians are again becoming as untrustworthy as they were in the 1980s when they chaptalized, blended, and put out all kinds of rubbish at high prices. spice, cherry, raspberry, dried herbs on the palate, silky fine tannins and pronounced punchy acidity at the end.

A bit modern, easy drinking, quite nice and a very good introduction to Chambolle Musigny. Had the Drouhin Chambolle Musigny 1:er cru at the same dinner, but I think this was just as good. My second Bouchard by the way, and a producer which seems to go for modern wines.

This village value intrigued me at Grand Tier Restaurant at the Metropolitan Opera House and I went out and bought a case for less than $55.00/bottle. The red fruit cherry, currant and raspberry surround the mid palate with richness and balance. Lovely fruit and spice aromatics are engaging and enveloping. Hard to believe this is only a village wine, the Chambolle characteristics captivate.
