Lots of interesting notes of bacon fat, teriyaki, herbs, meat glaze, fresh wood bark, bits of vanilla. The palate has a lot of freshness structurally for a wine of this age — it doesn’t feel tired at all. Some ripe raspberries, herbs, general umami, cooked mushrooms — lots of integration. It stands out a little more on the nose, but it’s overall quite good and unique.

Inky purple color. The syrah in this is really noticeable now, still some drying tannic structure to resolve, but this opens up with a little air. Drink now with a decant or hold for a few more years.

Drank it with a wild mushroom tart tatain. Good concentraton with raspberry liqueur, dried herbs and sweet red friuts. It got better with time in the glass. Good structure to improve in the bottle for at least 5 years. I'll let the other bottle rest a bit more. Good juice.
