Must have sourced a bottle from the barrel Serge acquired. Nothing but wood, until the next night then some fruit showed up. I hope that is the only one like that.

When I saw the look on the face of my GF after making the first sip, I knew it is going to be a problem. This is one Parkerized syrah which can be easily mistaken for Australian Shiraz. Yaikes! I am not dissing OZ Shiraz if you like this sort of thing, but c'mon! For Coty Rotie drinker this is not enjoyable wine. And they say that women are the sex objects...not my woman, her facial expression tells the story …

This is an amazing wine. Cocoa powder--like a home-made mocha latte--over blackberries and a creamy texture that's just wonderful. Mouthfilling sweet and integrated tannins round this out. The wine stands up nicely to acidic and spicy flavors. Perfect, a creamy red wine to go with good Mexican food. Outstanding.

Wow! Excellent and consistent Syrah. This is bottle #3 and it has been as good as the others - maybe even better! Dark purple, opaque color. Prominant nose of pleasant leather along with ripe blackberries, some cedar and herbs. Flavors are quite complex: dark fruits of mostly cherry and blackberries but also herbal notes and as others have already said, smooth tannins. Medium-length, peppery, yet slightly sweet finish; an enjoyable and complex wine that I strongly recommend. I'd buy this …

I am generally not a Syrah fan, otherwise this rating would be even higher. Not too jammy at all for this varietal. Really dark in the glass...inky, nearly purple. Black cherry, oak, dark chocolate, smooth tannins, black currant. So good.

A surprisingly deep rich garnet hue greets the eye. The nose was enticed by leather and cedar and tart melon with menthol undertones. The tongue found ripe cherry and an herbal vegetative note with soft tannins. There was a nice medium finish. Though I prefer and expect a little more spiciness and acidity in a Syrah, at about $12, this is a wine with really good QPR!

Another very nice bottle,Popped and poured...opened up nicely after 30 minutes. Dark garnet color, thick and chewy. Chocolate, caramel, black cherry on the nose, sweet soft tannins. Very nice finish, excellent Syrah.

The eye sees a dark deep rich brick red. The nose finds cherry pie and pine and cigar box. The tongue is met with tart cherry and mint with spicy undertones and medium tannins. The finnish was short and flat. This wine has tremendous QPR, and is drinking rather nicely.

This continues to be a FANTASTIC Syrah. Hauntingly dark in color and a barrel of fruit in a bottle. Wonderfully made and a smooth as silk finish.

If you like Syrah, you will like this wine. Full bodied, very traditional Syrah profile. Spicey without being excessively sharp. My score would be higher if I liked Syrah more. I thought I would give it a try.

outstanding value on this high powered fruit bomb syrah... the fruit hits immediately follow shortly by some huge tannins. Too much tannin? Maybe but still nicely balanced. Finish is a bit sharp but this baby drinks like a $45 bottle

This is stellar for the price. Plummy with lots of smoky tar flavor. Some whiskey notes, especially a distinct almond that takes a while to emerge. Dark berry fruits. A bit chocolatey. At this point I'm convinced that Rogue River syrahs are the best wines in Oregon and the most underrated US-grown wines.

This has a ton of fresh fruit. It so beautifully made and is a great food pairing wine with meat dishes. I bought the last case at my local store, our dinner group selected this as the pick of the evening
