Villa Maria Pinot Gris Taylors Pass Vineyard

Medium colour: lime-gold. Distinctive, fat nose with citrus and overripe fruits, banana and a touch of caramel. Rich, uncompromising palate. Guava, candied citrus, and hefty spice. The finish is intriguingly bittersweet, fruity and dry at the same time. This is a very interesting wine, but not to my taste - although I appreciate the amount of character they have wrung from this often-insipid grape.
