To start, I am not a young wine drinker, but wanted to try a bottle before the next ordering season hits. Very remarkable wine and extremely unique, as I can’t recall a wine that has this taste profile. Opened and decanted for two hours before trying a nip. Not much of a nose at the two hour mark but clearly the flavor started to kick in. Enjoyed two hours later at dinner with a tasty Flannery hanger steak. It had …

I’m blown away by the quality of wine in the bottle here. Popped and poured, followed over about 4 hours. I loved it. This has a ton of freshness while retaining a ripe fruit profile. It has excellent amplitude on the palate, with juicy compact berries and fruit in a red to black spectrum. No greenness and plenty of weight on the palate. Of the young cabs in my cellar, I might put my money on this one to age …

Decanted for five hours. Delicious wine - understated fruit. Mild tannins provided good backbone. Glad I was able to find this winery early - thanks to Wine Berserkers.

Dark fruit, cassis, savory, a bit of rosemary and maybe a hint of menthol, earth, and red plums on the nose. Good acidity with well structured but relatively smooth tannins, more dark fruit, black cherries, forest notes, and blackberries on the palate. Good finish. Well balanced and not at all over the top like so many Napa Cabs, the fruit is ripe but tart enough to keep the wine fresh and interesting. Would love to see how this evolves with …

Not sure what to make of this wine. Pop and pour, it came across as confectionary and sweet. After about five hours, some dark fruit started to show on the nose, but the finish was still primary. NR

Decanted for two hours, which helped. This was really good and I'm glad I bought a few. Somewhat restrained nose that still allowed that gorgeous Cali Cab fruit to show, but not bowl one over. While it had great fruit that I would characterize as dialed down a bit (in a very good way...not to the extreme like, say, Beta), the palate was bright and lively and the wine evolved over the 2+ hours we enjoyed it. Great fruit, nice …

Needs an hour to open up - after that, the nose and taste are remarkable. I struggle to compare it to anything. It's mid-weight, and it's not pleasantly over-the-top bold like Myriad or geeky like Beta or classically structured like Di Costanzo. Roy Piper recommended this and I do see some similarities with his wine. The aroma continued to gain nuance and the palate deepened for the few hours we managed to keep it on the table. Really a winner.

Brought to a dinner. Decanted off sediment for 30min, back to bottle, then into a decanter at dinner. Followed for a few hours. Moonridge Vineyard on Moon Mountain, 14.2 ABV. Immediately on PnP (from the dregs) was an incredible nose of cool blue fruit, eucalyptus, mountain shrub. Palate was effervescent blueberries and florals. Structure was very large on opening, a wall of tannins where just a little bit was poking through met with balanced acidity. Finish was very powerful and …

Drank this over two days. A lot of the interesting aromas closed up a little bit after the pop so I can’t recommend any of the crazy long decants that have been mentioned. But I liked the wine a lot. There were botanical and sassafras scents that kind of came across like a more exotic take on the cola thing that shows up in Sonoma pinots. Those were among the things that were most expressive in the beginning. The fruit …

Method: decanted for 5.5 hours then poured back in the botte then tasted over 3+ days (but only took written notes on day 1); Cab glass; always chilled (low 60s) Nose: red fruit (red currant?), integrated graphite, maybe a hint of dried tobacco; not super expressive on day 1 Palate: red fruit (red currant, cherry), graphite; long finish of big black pepper followed by graphite and a bit of lightly dried herbs; dry; medium+ body; high somewhat fine but also …
