The Ned, Waihopai River Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough

Plenty of 'gooseberry' on the nose and palate at first but it was thin, short, lacking in depth and character. Even worse after a night in the 'fridge. This was not a patch on earlier examples which were generally acceptable. This was a caricature of NZ SB and my glass went down the drain. Perhaps this was a bad bottle or a general quality control issue but it was very disappointing indeed.

Very good Sauvignon blanc 89 points. Geat for the price of $15

Stylish NZSB with stacks of green fruit, grassy elements and lengthy dry fruit driven finish.
