Cameron Hughes Merlot Lot 460

Drink alongside with the world's end little sister. This one is more fruit forward and sweeter. Less attractive aroma though. Both are firm and smooth.

Bright red, rubbery notes upon open, nice floral aroma after about half an hour. Ripe fruits, coffee, smooth tannin. Trace of alcohol flash. Medium to long finish. This is from Oakville.

Nice fruity start, weak finish. Light body. Not worth buying again. Julie is also a no on buying again.

Much better the 2nd day. Almost a different wine.

Decanted 2 hrs, translucent ruby color, aromatic nose with some vanilla/cherry, med mouthfeel, long finish with tannins/oak, a baby Cab, glad I picked up at $11 sale price.

There is some dark fruit and tobacco that is taken for by a bitter/astringent finish. It is continually opening up over time and I look forward to tasting it again tomorrow after a day of air.

A nose of dark fruit and spice, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red, with blackberry, blueberry, some dust and vanilla spice on finish, a very good QPR. www.winelx.com

One of the better Cali Merlots that I've had in a while... could easily pass as mid-tier "big name" and garners a good QPR for where Cam has it offered. P&P and actually finished the bottle the same night (which is rare, since I typically re-cork for 2nd night evolution test). Poured as full bodied and deep purple in glass. Tight at 1st... with 1 hour of open bottle air and swirling, it came out to play with good mix …

Another good Merlot from our tasting last night. Good fruit. Somewhat smoother than the Freemark Abbey but also somewhat simpler.
