La Fête du Champagne: Lunch with Raphaël Bérêche (Obelix - Chicago IL) : In vertical, this vintage showed mostly Chardonnay character than the others, plenty of green and yellow apple with lots of bright energy. Very good length, very bright textures.

2008 Champagne - 25 top names tasted blind : Wonderful nose here with pinot spice, red apples, very Selosse style aromas and density, oxidative without the Sherry spectrum. Very dense palate, generous and dry, typical grower style. Very grand showing of Bereche.

Disgorged November 2015 and dosed at 3g/L. This has a lovely Bereche nose of browned butter and mineral. The palate is tasty but slightly lean per the earlier house style, however the previously shrill acidity has attenuated significantly. In the 2008 style, this doesn't feel fully mature yet. Last half of the bottle, 5 days later: it's lost most of the fizz, but the wine speaks with a clearer voice. It's quite delicious, with a slightly honeyed apricot and brassy …

Disgorged 11/2015. 3 g/l dosage, 50% PN, 50% Chard. This is the most interesting Champagne that I have had in some time. Distinctly flinty, with pear, apple and a refreshing chalky salinity. There is also a savory note in the finish. This was uniquely good, will last a long time.

This was a curious showing. The wine initially showed a rather green, shrill personality but with a couple of hours of aeration a richer more generous personality emerged. Like my other experience with this wine, there's a clear oak signature but I found it pleasant and it played well in the experience. Based on this bottle I will hold my last for at least a few more years.

Très beau champagne à la belle vinosité, semble plus évolué que son âge, à voir comment il va évoluer.

really great drink. terrific cut and precision, but still had gobs of fruit. had i tasted this blind, i may have thought it 100% chard; despite it being a 50-50 mix of chard-pinot. my kind of bubbles - painful intensity!

Top notch. Drinking well now but with upside. No oxidation encountered here.

Quite rich, even slightly oaky in a pleasant way. Showing some notes of age, but the firm acidity shows as youthful and slightly green. A very long, complex Champagne that is thought-provoking. A few oxidative notes but all within balance and not as strong as some of the notes here describe.

First bottle was dynamite but this second one is showing oxidation. Also the cork was almost impossible to pull. Really saddens me but the bottle was sill drinkable and liked by those at the table who had no reference point for '08 Le Cran. Showing apple instead in of classic lemon custard. What a shame....

This champagne is terrific! Color is light gold and the bubbles are fine and tight. Granny smith skin, honey crisp apple, a little cooked fruit like caramelized apple, a touch of fresh brioche, and candied lemon on the nose. The pallet is bursting with fresh lemon juice, lemon peel, green apple, lemon candy as well as rich array of minerals. Acid is really well balanced and the champagne has a nice medium plus body. Finish is medium plus. What a …

Drinkable, but bordering on being too oxidative.

The first bottle was a show stopper. This Le Cran, was very oxidized, undrinkable.

Medium straw yellow, fast bubbles od med size. Nise of ripe pear and golden apple. Sweet on palate, sufficient acidity and concentration making the wine interesting and not bland. Spicy after taste, and with the higher dosage, ladies would love it a lot.

Tight and creamy, with pretty red fruit hints at the edges, goes on and on. Another beautiful finishing Bereche.

Probably my wine of the night -- and there were a number of nice wines, but this is the bottle I will remember. One of my favorite bottles of champagne I have had at the price point.

One of the nicest blended champagnes I've come across, reminds me of a great vintage of clos de goisses. Rich and long

Fully delicious. Tasted similar in style to Selosse with notes of Sherry on the nose and palate.

For me the best one from Terres et Vin 2016 in Reims. Ripe fruits, citrus, yuzu, passionfruit, some toast, red berries, crispy acidity, great length, powerful and reluctant likewise 94-95
