Domaine Marc Morey & Fils Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes

@Fred_Lund: This straight 1er Cru VV is really singing. None of that dreaded prematurity, just that rare proper maturity. Gem. 91+

Nose with yellow apple, smoke, a hint of burnt match and some buttery notes, somewhat developed. Medium concentration, yellow apple, some citrus notes, good acidity, rather long aftertaste with grapefruit. Drinks well now, 88 p.

2007 traits showing to the fore, strong mineral string and tight nose. Needs time to blossom

A really lovely wine drinking beautifully right now. Very complex nose with some leesy aromas, smoke and yellow fruit. Long and elegant on the palate with ample fruit and a balancing acidity.

Crisp fruity mineral with a long citrus finish. Elegant feel on the palate. Enough body to feel impressive but light in its feet with crisp acidity. One of the better white burgundies I've had. I will hunt down more.

Fynd

Obvious buttery nose due to oak influence. It's not fruity at first especially chilled with ice. When the temperature went up, it became more fruity and interesting. Comfortable palate with pear, pineapple, hazelnut, citrus. Well-made and fine texture and layer. Elegant and peaceful. Average freshness and crispiness. Had strong complexity and kept changing along a few hours.

The Sampler Summer Tasting 2012 (London) : Much more muted nose than the Mountadam. Stunning palate though: full-bodied, rich and creamy. Gorgeous texture. Smoky with hints of burnt caramel. Very long. Very good.

Pleasant bright lemon colour, with distinctive Chassagne nose of apples and hazel nuts. The taste was slightly unintegrated with the wood needing longer to blend in. Plenty of fresh acidity and plumpness lead me to feel that this will improve over the next 5 years - a bit too early to drink now.
