Sattes Granatrot, violetter Schimmer. Im Geruch Aromen von reifem Kernobst, balsamische Noten (Zigarrenkiste). Auf dem Gaumen vollmundig (reife Pflaumen), gut verwoben mit den Barrique-Nuancen (Toast, Vanille, Kakao).

Improving over the last year, this is a deep red starting to turn slightly tan on the edge. Smells like cherries stored in a cedar box, and still does best after a couple of hours open. Moving deeper mid palate, to plums and blackberry, and still plenty of brisk tannins. The drinking window may be a bit short on this; I think it is good for several more years. Medium finish. Deep ruby red. 85% Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha, 5% Graciani and 5% Mazuelo. Never heard of Graciani. Juicy red fruits with a bit of underbrush on the nose. Ripe plums mid palate. Shortish finish and tannin largely gone.

Big and tannic tonight but the underlying materials are definitely quality. This needs a steak or a juicy burger. Good juice for the price.

Popped and poured. Very drinkable.

4/25/10: Pretty traditional. Some tannins still there. Red fruits, ceder, you know the drill. Does soften up. 87+ 2/26/10: Rich, ripe nose. Juicy. Nice acidity. Very good Rioja, although also quite ripe. 87-88

Super tasty and food friendly. Bigger and darker than your average traditional Rioja. Finishes nicely. A super value on the list at Vineria San Telmo in Sevilla, Spain.

Fragrant blackberries and tobacco. Palate has berries and pepper, with a medium berry finish. Simple, enjoyable, would be better if it had a little more backbone. However, quite nice for the price.

deep ruby red. inviting nose - obviously oaky but intense cherry and strawberry with spicy clove lift. On the palate, full bodied, lush berry fruits with a sweetish vanilla aftertaste. Smooth finish. Tastes a touch raw so I'd leave for a few years.
