Excellent vin qui s’est détendue après un certain temps. Nous étions dans les fruits noirs et une finale poivrée. C’est assez classique pour une côte rôtie. Il faut définitivement décanter et je crois que ce vin peut encore attendre un peu.

Tasted triple blind. This is slowly opening in an intriguing way. Floral whiffs, hints of beef jerky. Substantial tannic structure. Kind of stern, but also quite pretty. Sappy, ripe fruit. Hold.

Opened and dexanted an hour before serving, this came across as big, bold but very firm. Back in the bottle for anther 24 hours for this furry beast, at which point it was more more balanced and forthcoming, and even interesting, while not perfectly harmonious. Upside from here.

All black fruit is nicely rich with lots of black pepper and smoked meat. I like the concentration a lot, but find the tannins to still be more assertive than I'd prefer for the level of the wine's freshness/ brightness. I find it difficult to assess where this will evolve.

drinking well right now; seems to possibly be at it's peak, however still has some structure to go another 5+ years; after 2 hours the white pepper and earthiness started to come out even more. I just wonder if the fruit will be there later on

Evolved and enjoyable now. Tannins are melted and soft dark fruit profile dominate w a hint of the meaty syrah character peeking. Balanced

Plain and primary upon opening and first glass. Sealed and visited 24 hours later. Much better, but still primary. wait 5-8 years before having another. Score based on second day.

Very nice, classic showing of a Northern Rhone Syrah here. Black currant, smoke, pepper, and blackberry.

Very typical Northern Rhone Syrah. Fresh black plums and berries, black pepper, olive tapenade and hints of leather on the nose. Med+ acid and tannins (fine and gritty), med body and med+ finish of olive and pepper, with fruit following behind. This wine is ready and despite other recent tasting notes, I don't believe it will go another 10+ years. I've got 2 more bottles that I will be drinking over the next year.

dense purple with translucent ruby edges. nose with violets, pepper, blackberries, purple plum, green weeds, and faint notes of smoke and animale. very lifted with a a medium body and moderate acidity. very fresh and cleansing. strongly mineral flavors with a soft dark berry and pepper presence. faint fine tannins and a medium length finish. will age and improve as it softens but ready to drink now.

Opened and decanted for prob 45 minutes before serving. I was very interested to try this wine as we're more familiar with the Domaine Jamet wines and hadn't had the opportunity to try this one yet. Jamet Côte-Rôtie vertical. Jean-Luc Jamet‘s wine was tasted next to the 2013 Jean-Paul Jamet Côte-Rôtie and the difference in style was stunning. Here you have a bigger, more extracted wine that feels a little forced, heavy handed next to the more elegant Jean-Paul Jamet CR. Decanted for eight hours. Great texture and purity, if a touch ripe. Had the opposite experience of clayfu - this was a heady field of violets and blackberries with the stony/earthy/meaty elements firmly in the background. I would have liked to decant for less time, but work got in the way.

a bit ripe and heady. Double decanted the wine and corked it back up with about 70% of the wine left to try later. While the Jean-Paul was about denseness and darker fruit, the Jean Luc went in a different direction. Upon first pour this was beautiful and crystalline, not meaty or savory like the other Jamet. Alas, the wine closed up quickly in the glass and was hard to judge thereafter.
