Not playing in the premier league of aged GG Rieslings, but still pretty decent.

Really shows the benefits of a couple of extra years of oak and bottle age. Beautifully deep, complex and mature, with lots of energy and vibrancy. Really yummy stuff.

Still young. This bottle is still in its infancy, although it is approaching another plenitude (to borrow a DP logo). At this stage, it is a plain old vanilla riesling that has the potential to age well. Went well with sushi and a salmon tartare. Hints of citrus, apple and salinity on the nose. The body is very fresh and lively apple, lime and minerals. Quite a long and satisfying finish. Drink from 2028 to 10+ years.

Very nice and complex with good tension. Green apple, citrus, grapefruit, good acidity. More complex than the Wehlener Sonnenuhr or Erdener Treppchen from Dr. Loosen.

Made in a very ripe style (I think 2015 was hot?), so it was verging on tropical on the nose, with a hint of petrol and lime just poking through. Broad and honeyed on the palate with just enough acidity to keep it fresh.

Pale to medium gold color. Intense mineral nose, wet stones, exotic fruits and flowers. Really beautiful and complexed. Elegant, balanced, concentrated. Round and juicy, every sip leads to a lingering and salty finish. Laser-beam like acidity. Great Riesling!

I’m not sure if it’s going to sleep or if this is what dry Rieslings do- pretty fragrant with scents of flowers, peaches and vague honey and lime scents thrown in. It tastes good? But not great. It’s still pretty zippy, and the acid makes its’ presence known but as far as actual flavours, there’s not as much going as there was last year. The citrus is there, but it’s almost like a manufactured artificial aero orange taste. Some breadiness …

Pale straw color, not too alcoholic. First scent is a distinct sweet dryness. Delicate, but complex. Mineralic with green apple, citrus and exotic fruits. Grapefruit, lycees, hint of banana, honey (without the sweetness), almonds. Mouthfeel is acidic, but really rounded and soft. Delicious. Made sauerkraut d’Alsace with it and it revokes a lot of nostalgic feelings. Recommended!

Deep golden in the glass. Expressive aromas of honeysuckle, ripe peach, pineapple, mango and hints of petrol. Medium-dry palate with high, crisp acidity. Not enough flavor intensity and concentration to carry the sweetness, making the wine appear a bit hollow, especially on the mid-palate. Started out splendid, but could really give more.

Once Again Knocking on Riesling Doors (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid) : Aloe Vera with lime. Slightly spicy on the palate, acid and persistent. Firmly smoky but not very mineral In these moments salivate until to dry out. GG for a good reason. WOTN Alohe Vera con lima. Ligeramente especiado en boca, ácido y con persistencia. Más ahumado pero no muy mineral En estos momentos salivas hasta desecarte. Seguramente el vino de la cata.

Painfully young, but ooooh what a pleasure to drink - this typical GGÜW by Dr. Loosen is showing all of its potential after 20 minutes breathing freely in your glass: razorblade sharp acidity, evenly matched by a touch of honeysuckle and fresh herbs. Get yourself a sixpack asap - drink one now, drink one every three years from now and forget about one bottle - and leave it in your cellar for future generations. Paired with Octopus, baked chorizo and …

I have not been the hugest fan of the GG style, but this is how they should be done. I will never understand how some of them come off tasting fruitless despite being picked at spatlese or auslese levels of ripeness. That is decidedly NOT the case here. This tastes bone dry with the usual knife-edge cut but still has beautifully ripe fruit, all pineapple and passionfruit. The structure is steely enough that I can't quite get to the point …

A lovely wine for food pairing. The limpid sweetness of the riesling remains despite the clear dryness. Soft acidity gives it backbone. In all, the wine stood up to trout escabeche.
