Schramsberg Vineyards J. Schram Noirs

Fine mousse of bubbles with lots of biscuits and brioche on the nose and palette. Yeasty aromas of fresh baked bread. Palette of dried fruits and panettone. Lean acidity, soft amber hue. Wonderful aperitif for Christmas.

This '15 'J. Schram Noirs' from Schramsberg Vineyards was my way to kickoff the Christmas weekend with my family back in California. Tasting notes of red orchard fruit, red apple, distinct brioche and yeasty characteristics, almond shell, and honey. A bit broader shouldered today with great complexity and length. Absolutely wonderful almost copper color in the glass. The nose is slightly muted but you still get some great red fruit notes, classic brioche, light minerality. On the pallet it comes alive - strawberries and crème galore. Great body and long but light and refreshing finish. Top 10 wine I’ve had this year. Absolutely delighted.

Fine bubbles. Notes of almond, honeysuckle, apricot, and baked apple. A hint of sweetness. Rich and complex

Perfect bubbles to follow dessert. Crisp, delicious, and the little (tiny) hint of residual sugar worked so nicely.
