Stellenzicht, Syrah, Stellenbosch

Got this from waterfront world of wine in cape town 15 years ago along with a few other wines that I had polished off long time ago, this one and a couple of others I kept, this one has cellared really well, A gorgeous wine full of dark fruits and oak, loved this! Would love to find some more!

NobleRottersSydney - blind Shiraz (Verde, East Sydney) : {cork, 14.5%} (Graeme) Aged nose; fungal, mushroomy, compost-like. Kind of attractive, but evidently old. The palate is full of spicy, delicatessen flavours; it’s soft now, nearly tannin-free, although still medium-bodied in weight; helped by quite even coverage of the flavours on the tongue. Better than you’d expect for 14 years old, but not terribly complex, although very enjoyable if you’re sympathetic to older wines. Drink now, needless to say.

Wines from around the World (Goosefoot, Chicago IL) : Lots of structure, initially complex favors, bright color almost Pinot like, high alcohol, very good indeed.
