Quick double decanted just 30 minutes prior consumption. Same notes as last time, consumed at the same place too! Excellent drink or hold.

Picked up this bottle a while back at auction.....30 minute double decant back into the bottle to take to dinner at Rich & Lisa's. Opaque deep magenta in the glass. Wonderful Napa nose of graphite and cassis. Some forest floor too. Palate was soft and totally resolved through the 2 hours we consumed it prior to dinner and totally balanced.....it never made it to the great short ribs that Rich made for us! Still a 96 for this one.....rich and …

Quick double decanted and started consuming about 1:30 later at Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton. The wine is a massive attack of dark fruits with resolved tannin with a phenomenal mid-palate. This wine pairs well with cheeses, meats, and seafood but it's great on its own. The finish is sensational. I think this is definitely drinking at peak and at the same time I don't see any sign of slowing down. So no rush...! Drink now and for the next …

This bottle was disappointing, I expected a whole lot more from a label that I was really fond of in the past. This bottle came across old, leathery, tannic and the fruit fading. After giving it some air, it never really came around, too bad.

We stayed alongside one of the Merus vineyards in a short-term rental apartment. it was a very small plot that created a lovely atmosphere with the patio. Tasting; Opened on our 26th Anniversary. Decanted for sediment. was really nice. multiple layers of cherry, oak, tobacco, leather. Was spectacular with a ribeye, but would be great to just enjoy on all its own merit, as well.

The final bottle of Merus in my cellar. It did not disappoint me. Decanted 80 minutes then back in bottle then cork out for another 4 hours. This one definitely improves with more air. There's more than one very savory component to this wine, with time. The tannins are fairly well integrated. It develops significant depth to the dark fruit, with multiple layers. One of the more complex wines tonight and to me that's a point or 2 more in …

90 min double decant. Very deep dark ruby magenta color. Apple peel, dandelion, charred boysenberry, licorice, and baking spice on the nose. Smooth, tongue drying palate. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish. Brought to dinner at HowellMountainCru’s home by Mark1NPT. Great lineup of wines (Carter, Accendo, Shibumi Knoll, Cakebread VHR,…).

Lovely wine. Clean cork. Moderate sediment. Short 30-45 minute decant revealed layers of flavor notes, spectacular mouthfeel, and a great finish. We could've been drinking a fine Bordeaux. First Merus for us. Still have 4 more from other vintages to enjoy down the road. Picked this up for just under $100 (Thanks Blacksmith). Needless to say, QPR at this price point is remarkable. 14.9% ABV, but you'd never know by taste. We loved this wine. Merus paired with 8 oz …

Drinking well at the moment. Open, floral and black fruit. Not overbearing at all with a nice balance.

Tasted against some other great wines, but this was the favorite. Still needed a long decant and has some years to go. Had with filet with port wine mushroom sauce. Yum.

This bottle may be at a bad fase at t moment. Too tannic and acid, overwhelmed by the out of control acid and oak. My last bottle will have to wait 3+ year...

Rich dark color in the glass, rich dark fruit on the nose, sweet blackberry with pleasant acidity and moderate tannins that are integrating nicely with some roundish qualities. Some acidity and tannins remaining but not overly astringent. Has some years to go but I'm not so sure this is a good QRP at $160/bottle. Feels like a $100-125 bottle.

Unbelievable nose - lots of aromatics, big red fruit, floral and herbal overtones. Big bodied with restrained tannins, lingers on the top of your tongue for a long luscious finish. Simply elegant!

Drank this last year. Robust wine that needed more time in bottle. Have 3 more bottles, so will space them out.

Appropriately aged. Robust but smooth. Tannins laid down after 20 minutes and wine continued to improve as bottle was finished. Earthy.

Napa September 2017; 9/9/2017-9/11/2017 (Napa, CA) : What a beautiful wine. Fruit on the attack, wonderful acidity on the mid palate and a long finish with fine tannins that will only get better with age. Loved the cherry and blackberry fruit as well as anise and baking spices.

Dark in color, with strong licorice, chocolate, espresso and sweet, blackberry and and jam center, this is full bodied, round and ripe.
