I believe 2022 dg…charming wine with some aged good funk of Pinot skin, raspberry tarts…bright and racy blood orange tingly acids…dried roses and red licorice…very engaging dry candied fruits finish…long savory finish. Love this!

Monthly Tasting Group: Pinots from Anywhere (Ciao Bella, Mpls) : Just got a couple of ml's of this, but it was enough to remind me how much I love this bottle. On fire. Such purity, class and elegance. The king stands alone.

Lovely fruity rosé champagne. Maybe it’s not super elegant but it does have great flavour and balance. This bottle (3 years old) showed pronounced cherry, raspberry, cranberry and orange fruit with rounded acidity.

As always, drinking superb! On any given night, my favorite rose' of champagne ... anywhere. Its refractory magenta color alone bodes well. Stellar, balance, depth and intensity. Got to make sure I keep my OH to at least 3 btls at all times. Vilmart's Cuvee Rubis is a nice runner up but this has an extra gear.

Retail $90. Ridiculously heavy bottle, (). 100% Pinot Noir. When the kind folk at Laurent-Perrier (LP) dropped me a line a couple of years back, i truly thought it was some sore of cruel joke. But. No. Soon thereafter, close to a case of wine from LP was knocking on my door (in this case? It was 'literally"). Out of all the LP wines I have tried previously, this wine has been the most "visited". Why? along with another producer …

Retail $90. Extremely heavy bottle, (897g; 31.5oz). 100% Pinot Noir. When the kind folk at Laurent-Perrier (LP) dropped me a line a couple of weeks back to try a few of their wines, I truly thought it was some sort of cruel joke. But. No. Soon thereafter, several bottles showed up at my door, and I was soon elbow-deep in the history of the house and its unique approach to making champagne. While I was familiar with Laurent-Perrier, I had …

Prior bottle was only 3 months ago and this wine continues to drink quite well. Red cherry, strawberry, mineral, lightly tart citrus as well as toast notes on the nose. Medium bodied with red cherry upfront showing both brighter notes and slightly deeper ones. Supported by strawberry through the middle and some tart red cherry and cranberry on the back. Acidity and mineral notes through the finish. This wine is simply consistently excellent; very pretty fruit, good depth and deft …

Consistent with previous notes: green apple, pear, chalk, brioche, faint honeysuckle. Zippy acidity. Pleasant and light. Reliable and refreshing. Not as much of a lime pith note this time.

$50 plus Domestic Pinot Noir Tasting (Scott and Amy's House Twin Cities) : Glasvin Champagne Stem. Very nice offering with strawberries, chalk, spice, rose petals and minerals. Found this good but had a bit too much chalk for my palate. Medium finish.

The nose opens with vivid red fruit — wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, and red currant — threaded with rose petal, blood orange zest, and a faint whisper of pomegranate. With air, subtler notes emerge: a touch of pink peppercorn, watermelon rind, and a delicate chalky lift that keeps the aromatics bright rather than confectionary. On the palate it’s energetic and precise, built more on tension than richness. The mousse is fine and persistent, carrying flavors of fresh berries, tart cherry, …

Tasted in a line up of ten champagnes from 2012. Amazing value for money. Incredibly precise, backed up by the beautiful fruit that 2012 is so well known for. Well within its drinking window, but will go on for several years.

Brought this wine to a University mate's place for our CNY reunion lunch. Gold in colour with notes of salinity, toast, sur lie, and minerality. Captivating freshness balanced with a well-built structure. One of the better house cuvee from one of the big brand Champagnes out there.

What would Valentine's Day be without a pink Champagne? So... Like a couple of our previous bottles, this bottle was disgorged in the 1st quarter of 2021 based on the A12 printed on the neck of the cork. We let this bottle slo-ox for about 20 minutes which "calmed" the wine. On the nose, and more so on the palate, there was a medley of red berries - strawberry, cherry and raspberry - along with some citrus. The mousse was …

A fresh, crisp champagne with predominately citrus and apple flavors and a hint of brioche. Some creaminess and fine bubbles. A safe choice if trying to please a crowd. A step above the NV cuvee but quite a step down from Grand Siecle, though much less expensive. A nice champagne, though in this price category I prefer others, such as Agrapart.

Prior bottle was only a week ago, but this time of year, there are simply too many opportunities for champagne. Very pretty red cherry along with toast/bread notes as well as brighter strawberry notes and mineral qualities on the nose. Medium bodied and just as well balanced as my prior bottle, but the red cherry seemed to shine a bit brighter this time. The strawberry behind along with the tart red cherry and acidity contributed the needed structure and contrast, …

A pale yellow color with playfully small effervescence introduces this refined Champagne. The nose is pronounced, offering bread dough, apples, peaches, lemon, and a hint of toast, balancing fresh fruit with autolytic charm. On the palate, the wine is dry, medium‑bodied, and driven by refreshing, crisp high acidity. The smooth, creamy mousse elevates the texture. Flavors are pronounced, led by baked apples, bread dough, and crisp citrus, culminating in a long, satisfying finish. This is a beautifully balanced NV Champagne, …

Champagne original, tout à fait typique du style de la maison. Pâle, il est très léger... Aérien, devrais-je dire... La bulle est très fine, soutenue, et souligne la prédominance du pamplemousse et de la pomme granny Smith dans ses saveurs dominantes. Belle persistance. TB. (***)

Prior bottle was only a month ago so my notes were essentially unchanged. Mix of pretty strawberry, brighter, deeper cherry and nice minerality on the nose. Medium bodied with the same mix of red cherry, deeper red cherry and brighter strawberry. Shows tart red cherry and watermelon to the back. This bottle showed excellent tartness and acidity which worked quite well with the mid-body fruit. Nicely balanced, but with plenty of zip. Next bottle for me will be New Years.

I like this Champagne--apparently so much that I just realized that I forget to write notes on it (last one 4/8/25, though I've had a few bottles since). Opened for a Christmas Eve aperitif. Lemon, pear, brioche, chalk on the nose and palate. Crisp, clean, and light. Though I haven't tasted them side-by-side, this is currently in the rotation with Roederer NV and Pol Roger NV. The Roederer is a little rounder, with the L-P more elegant.
