Volteo Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Tempranillo/Cabernet Sauvignon

When I grabbed this off the shelf at Publix, did not even look at the vintage. For most wines, 2008 is a little long at the tooth, but for a Spanish Tempranillo blend probably just getting ready. I like this wine. It is over 7 years old and still vibrant. Deep cocoa influenced tannins from lips to finish. Charcoal and vanilla influenced blueberry and dark cherry on the palate. Great balance. Stunning inexpensive wine, very enjoyable, but not complex, Shiraz plays very well with the Tempranillo; seems like a great wine to share often and generously with friends.
