A more elegant shiraz, not what I was expecting from Mclaren Vale. Medium bodied, not that it is listed, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a touch of Viogner added. Blackberry, mulberry and a bit of oak. Consumed over 2 days and it didn’t change much over time. Still relatively fresh/youthful but I believe it will not get better with time. Drink now and enjoy!

Nose is licorice and smoky with hints of menthol very coffee-esque. Taste is smoky-mocha-spice with minty notes dark chocolate, dried raspberry. Black pepper turns into a silky smokey coffee licorice anise with some time open - pepper and blackberry on the finish. Has aged extremely well got to be that screw cap. Lovely complexity.

Still continues to delight. One of the best dozen I’ve ever bought for $12 a bottle.

Rich, ripe McLaren Vale Shiraz. Showing some mustiness. Shortish. Past its best. Last bottle.

Rich, ripe Shiraz. Not overdone. Might soften a little in a couple more years. Next day shows the underlying acid better.

Ripe year showed in this. Warm cellar has not been too kind but it was drinkable, heavy set shiraz from low to medium quality grapes.

It must be at least a year since I opened a bottle of this. If my recollection is reliable, this wine just keeps getting better! Beautifully integrated fruit, soft tannin and enough length sees the beginning of a long optimal drinking window.

Opens with ripe dark fruits and prickly heat. Fades after 2 days. Simple quaffer

Deep, dense red colour. Showing intense sweet fruit of 2012, beginning to develop. Rich ripe McLaren Vale Shiraz. Ball breaker stuff. Elegance? Not sure they know the word. Medium length, should age well.

Medium bodied wine. Some nice coffee touch on the nose. A bit too much spice / pepper on the palate for my taste. Pretty long finish. Very nice for a wine served on a plane
