Small Chapoutier tasting (Knightsbridge Wine Shoppe) : 100% marsanne. Opens with an unexpected ash/campfire note, followed by pear and quince. Spicy white fruit with a lengthy finish. This really suits my palate. Very nice.

Tasted this in their tasting room over a week ago. Overall, realize this is among the lowest rungs on their ladder. Price was said to be 8-10E. Disappointing as was thin with not adequate fruit nor body, and not much length. Actually did not finish the amount offered in the tasting, as we anticipated the next wine (Sizeranne).
