Cork looked good initially but splintered into shards midway down. Wine itself was intact, but a somewhat pale reflection of its old self. Still had the characteristic RRV fruit and earthiness, but a bit thin and lacking vivacity.

I agree with my tasting note of 15 months ago. Was the hilight of our meal with friends.

I agree with my note of just under 6 months ago. In a good place. Cork perfect, color good. Consumed over two days. Delious blend of Russian River Pinot Noir. My last bottle of this appellation series from this vintage year. Good job Ben (as always)!

I guess the news of this wine's death was premature since this bottle is tasting really good right now !! A perfect cork after a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. As always, this balanced wine showed more fresh fruit on the first day. As expected, on day two this balanced wine had softened with increased depth and integrated complexity. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate and cranberry. Flavors of black cherry, raspberry, …

Maybe finally reaching the end of life. Perfect cork after a decade in the bottle. Consumed over two days. As always, this wine showed more fresh fruit on the first day. As expected, on day two this wine had softened but also lost something. Deep ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of pomegranate and cranberry. Flavors of dried cherry, raspberry, and forest floor. This Pinot Noir has a medium finish. A flavorful Pinot Noir that is slightly out …

It seems every bottle I open from this winery just makes me happy. I'm getting just a touch of heat on the back end of this, but the deep cherry fruit and glycerin-y (is that a word?) texture through the middle is just really resonating with my palate. Once again, I pulled this last bottle because my drink-by date in CT was 2018, but if you still have some, I don't think there's any rush on this one.

Still outstanding. Lots of cherry fruit. Nice nose. This remains the standard for me for California pinot

I love this winery, which makes it feel like a special occasion when I open one - even midweek. So I've probably been sitting on these a bit longer than I should. Given this bottle is past the CT drinking window, I was a little relieved when it showed well right from the pop-n-pour during dinner prep. I got some very nice cherry fruit, maybe a hint of orange and pomegranate, with no signs of fading, much less being "spent," …

Still has great fruit, bright with slightly stewed strawberry and cola notes on the nose. Smooth and light on the palate. Lasting acidity. Not overly complex, but utterly pleasing.

This is absolutely terrific. Great acidity. Spice, raspberry and cola on the nose. Concentrated and robust. Juicy and lip smacking. This is classy, with nice complexity and is just delicious to drink.

Still lots of cherry and hints of cedar, but it does fade over dinner. Nicely balanced on the palate. Drink now.

This was a pretty fruit-forward RRV Pinot on the first couple of days. Lots of darker fruits, and a reasonable acidity, but not so much complexity to start. There was a little bit left on the third day, and the wine seemed to have picked up some depth then. Some hints of earth on the nose.

Like velvet. Incredible balance and harmony. Rose petal and earth on the aroma. Cherries give way to chantrelles and sea salt. Terrific.

Tasted this one to see how it is aging, but will wait a couple of years before opening any more of the 2009. Bright nose with a little lychee on it, complex body, long finish. Opened nicely over a couple of hours but wish I would have waited!

Medium color and body, with lots of tastes of cranberries and dark cherry. Has some baking spice and a long finish. Very complex Pinot that will only get better.
