1 hour decant, served at 60 F. Deep and rich in color. Initially subdued, a nose of dark fruits, eucalyptus, smoke and dried cocoa gradually emerged and intensified with air. Big black cherry fruit on the palate, with green herbs, dried oak and raspberry notes. Low acidity, well-integrated alcohol. Soft, velvety tannins and a long, drying finish.

Still a big wine without much nuance. Plenty of life but not likely to improve.

Revisiting Washington (Woodinville) : This is a very soft and kindof velvety style of wine. Darker fruits, some pine notes, a bit of herbal and violets. It's got a hint of the pretty style which I always like (I think I get that from more floral notes). Good tannins.

Double decant (menu). Deep Dark purple in the glass. Nose of dark fruits. Fruit forward. Oak, spice, cherry and vanilla with the rich, palate coating finish that I crave. Similar full throttle style to Quilceda Creek. This might be the greatest wine at this price point I have ever had! A seriously Gorgeous wine! Had the wine first at the tasting room and loved it. I’m sure she will age well but she is truly irresistible now.

In a really good spot. Still very fruit dominant, tannins and oak well integrated, and drinking at peak likely.

This bottle has been cellared since I bought it shortly after its release. It demonstrated that a well constructed bordeaux blend will gain complexity and grace with age. Deep garnet with cassis on the nose and on the palate with secondary flavor of vanilla. Tannins have smoothed and the finish is long.

Excellent merlot blend. Huge, lush Walla Walla character. I love this small producer, each one of their wines is truly an experience to be had. One of the best gems of Washington, IMO.

Not bad, but seems to be in decline. Only purchased this a few months ago so storage conditions are unknown. Kind of all over the place . . . . Fair amount of bricking, yet still had grip. Lacked balance, hot finish, nice aromatics. Tasted good, but was a bit medicinal on the finish.

Dark and hot. Beautiful Cab feel on about an hour of decanting. Smooth and tannic. Fruit bomb, not an oak bomb. Shorter finish than expected but it doesn't pull a vanishing act. Put your face in it if you like licorice.

Friends and I tasted this at the winery on 7/28/12. It had a deep, fragrant and smoky bouquet of black currant, cocoa, tobacco, herb and spice aromas. The palate was rich and powerful with flavors that followed the nose. 91+

Yes. Opened this bottle and enjoyed the first half on day one. Letting it open up overnight and expecting even more tomorrow. Tannic? Sure, a little. Look past that and you'll find a lovely wine at a $40 price point.

Opened on a Friday early evening - the wine is tight, tannic and unapproachable. I left it decanted overnight in the cellar and drank it 26 hours later. The lengthy decanting provided a glimpse of the future - and what a brilliant future this wine has. Powerful aromas of asphalt, black licorice and flowers. Remarkable concentration with black fruit, tobacco and tar in the mouth. Grippy tannins on the lingering finish. My remaining bottles will be stashed in the corner …

the nose on this was very promising, with creosote, clay dust, hot bricks, and sweet if high-toned cherries. but the mouth was tight as a drum, with tannins that really shut everything down for me and kept the finish from doing anything interesting. the finish was a little bitter and unripe, which was strange since the nose didn't suggest any unripeness.
