Same decant time as the '07 La Jota before we started in on it..... Carol's fav of the night because it is so young and she's def a younger Cali fruit 'ho if there ever was one. To me, after having the '07 La Jota it seemed a tad, simple? Not as many layers of complexity but still high quality and still very good. Yet, it felt a lot like an 'entry level' wine than my last bottle 10 months …

Still very primary did well with an hour of air. Quality of fruit really came through. Should be great when it settles

Super solid. Lots of complexity on the palate yet has a plushness. Enjoyed quite a bit.

5 hr decant, and that barely opened this up. This is the KE “early drinker”? Will I live long enough to taste my 21 Kaanos at maturity? Regardless, this is potentially a beautiful CA cab: even as tight as it was, it showed a beautiful red/black berry balance, fresh cut flower stalks, and traces of tobacco and slate. It will reward you with at least another 5 years in the dark. Not a trace of over extraction, no alcoholic heat …

Two hour decant. Very very deep magenta color. Plum, cherry, pomegranate, cinnamon tea, oatmeal cookie dough, and subtle orange rind. Smooth, dry, plush palate, with dusty acidity. Firm, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish. This is certainly youthful, but also really pleasant. It leans a bit more red fruited than I like, but a little more age may correct that. There’s lots of upside here. I hope to wait a year before opening another.

Double decanted and left it overnight under cork - it improved over that 24 hours - rounded out, lost the vanilla note from the oak, and was very tasty. So yes, this is the early drinking KE, but it still needs air and/or time to fully shine.

Whoah Nelly. I had forgotten exactly how good this is - it's huge without being overbearing. It's got a great spine, and the length is wonderful. My wife, who hasn't been drinking for a couple of weeks, said that this is the kind of wine that reminds her why she loves wine.

My first of this 'entry level' wine. Three hour double decant back into the bottle before going to the HDH event this afternoon. Tasted there at its 4th hour of air and enjoyed at dinner following after 5-6 hours of air. First off, this one is quite tight at the open. No problem in letting these sit another couple of years. With 3 hours of air, it's very delish. Big dark red fruit, smooth and integrated. Loses a little bit …

Temporary Living and not the best drinking; 1/30/2025-6/15/2025 : No rating due to personal limitations (darn medication—should not have opened this when I did). But although I was missing certain smell and taste elements, the texture on this was beautiful. The complexity is there and I think it is drinkable now although plenty of structure for the long haul.

Ran through an Aervana airator into a decanter for 3 hours prior to tasting and drank over another 3 hours. I am rating this wine a 95 not so much for the flavors as I am rating this based on the nuanced secondary and tertiary layers of this wine. The fruit, at least to me, is on the tart side - think of a tart cherry pie with some nice vanila undertones. But the finish reveals great balance wiht the …

Blackcurrant: "tart and slightly sweet, with earthy undertones, described as a mix of grape-like and berry flavors". That descriptor sums up my feeling on this. Just terrific. But give this plenty of air, at MINIMUM 4 hours, to unwind...it's rough and monolithic initially. Just a wisp of blackberry liqueur, velvety viscosity, like biting into an almost ripe black grape. Lots of tannin of course but not overwhelming. Open one of your 3-pack now, give it lots of air, and let …

Unfortunately this was a PNP situation. Would have been much better if decanted, or better yet in a year or two. Plenty of upside expected from this one.

This was really excellent and drank well out of the gate and over 3 days. No significant sediment and air didn't change it much out of the bottle over that time period. Cassis, sweet blackberry fruit, great richness without austerity. It's a lovely wine that should drink well for a long time!

Popped this bottle as we gathered with friends and discussed preliminary 2025 Napa plans. Lots of red fruit, currant, and cherries. This needed minimum 4 hours to shine. Tried at hour 2 and tannins were still quite chalky and grippy. They softened considerably by hour 4 and improved over the next hour of consumption. Doing it again, I think this needs another year in the cellar, but if drinking now, give this 5-6 hours of air. More upside in the …

Multidimensional sitting next to single vineyard wines which for me is fun trying to pick out which sites made it into the blend. We know for sure Vine Hill Ranch block 2 might have made up a majority of this bottling. Hopefully the sum of it's party will come together with a little more time in the bottle. At the release price point this is an easy purchase and a fun one to follow and pull from the cellar as …

Get together with a friend for the European Cup and we decided to drink this next to the 2021 La Pelle Alluvium cab to see how they compare since they are at a similar price point and both 96 rated wines by Dunnuck. A new wine from Kinsman based on multiple AVAs and a mix from the single vineyards. Dark ruby fruit - dark cherry, red & black currants, and some plum. Smooth mid-palate with solid depth/concentration. Nice vibrant flavors …

Opaque purple color with a magenta red rim. Intense pomgranite and black raspberry scent lifted with a nice floral note and a boatload of tight French oak, vanilla and a touch of chalk. Quite penetrating and intense on the palate with a good level of acidity driving the big fruit, oak and vanilla flavors. This finishes with intense fruit carried by the acidity. Not at all jammy or thick in texture. A long, lean finish show cases the tight french …

Been a long week home with a 2 year old recovering from surgery. Had this with a prime ribeye cap. First thought upon smelling while pouring into decanter was “coconut!” Is there American oak used here? I guess I’d be a little surprised if there was, but whatever. It’s not off putting, just maybe a bit unexpected? After a bit of time (say an hour) and I pour a taste, thoughts went to, “Damn, I opened this way, WAY too …

Nice to have a Kinsman wine ready to drink after only a few years. The tannins here are sweet and I can’t find any heat at all. It’s all creamy cherries in a baked pie. Incredibly impressive in this price range.

It’s a solid offering for the $140 price tag. It has similar density and length as the regular offerings but maybe just pulled back a little. In a blind line up of all Kinsman Eades Candi doubt I could pick it out.

Amazing wine with upside as the finish softens. Profile in line with other comments and darker profile overall. I believe this is one of the better wines at this price point I have had in recent memory.

Nigel does it again. The Dude is on a STREAK! This is a fantastic wine. My second KE, the first being a 2016 Rhad that I still get fired up thinking about. Need to start ripping some more corks because life's short so why the F not... 95 now with two hour decant, with upside a bit down the road...

Can't add much to the descriptions of the flavor profile found below - I'll mention that I decanted for 2 hours, but I'm not sure it needed it. It's a huge wine, but it's detailed enough not to be overbearing. A delight.

I couldn't resist. This is actually a beautifully structured wine for it's youth. It doesn't have the depth of fruit or tannic (in a good way) body that it's bigger brothers have but don't overlook this bad boy. Delicious red fruit with a light and racy middle note closing with a silk smooth finish. Super easy drinker! I mean it, silky smooth to drink.

The Hiero is a slighter higher riding monkey when compared to the Kaannos, Kodo, and Aphex. Yummy right now and not shying away from letting you know it likes to party, the Hiero is smooth, inviting, and fun, fun, fun. Redder cherries hopscotch with black cherry, plum skin, and a tinge of vanilla. Structure and acidity here are on point, with the back end filling out with softer, more affable curves on the finish. While your biggins sleep in the …
