8yo, apricot, high acid, straw color, sweet on the nose (botrytis?) but dry palate.

Quite dark color bordering on light golden. In the nose, it's quite rich, there are hints of botrytis (honey, ginger), the fruit is quite ripe with notes of candied orange and lime, it smells quite sweet. In the nose, this is very rich, much richer than the 12% vol. alcohol suggest, not 100% dry, but fairly dry tasting, lots of volume, good acidity, sufficient freshness. Great length. This is not for everyone, quite special in its characteristics, but lots of …

I did not know what to expect from this 10 year old bottle, so I was initially happily surprised at the pure Riesling taste it showed. It had notes of bees wax and a clean mushroomy taste. The wine had already started to climb downhill but in a graceful manner. Maybe three years ago it had been at its peek. I drank almost the whole bottle within a few days time.

Frais et élégant, belle pureté du fruit et minérale. Un peu fermé lorsque frais, il s'ouvre à chaleur ambiante. Nectarine, abricot, miel, cire d'abeille, craie. Un peu fugace mais belle tenue en bouche.

Vibrant crisp Riesling with a nice balance between fruit and acid, very clear, light honey and flowers on the nose with a hint of botrytis. 50 + 15 + 16 + 9.

Excellent entry level riesling from a great producer. Light yellow-green. Elegant nose with citrus fruit, florality and mineral scents. Medium-bodied, combining elegance, lightness and purity of fruit without being lean or diluted, in the unique way that only a few grapes such as rieslings and pinot noirs can. Balanced and long. Excellent for the price.

Classic Riesling aromas, well balanced and moderate in alcohol and just a hint of sweetness that adds length to the finish. The color is light, the body moderate and this was one of the best dry Rieslings I have had in a while.

Pale yellow-green color. Heady aromas of lime, flowers, and white peach. Palate has mineral, lime, lemon, peach and floral elements that carry into a stony, medium-long finish. This was delicious now and should gain some interest with cellar time. Drink or hold.

A clear, pale color. A dry, salty and flinty nose of grapefruit, quince and jasmin notes. Quite distinct and characterful aromatically I must say. On the palate light to medium bodied but firm, structured and poised. Full of intense, dry fruit notes of apple, grapefruit, white flowers and spices. Considerably salty and stony. Really precise with a long, balanced finish, marked by a cutting acidity. Quite racy and serious, and really thrived at the dinner. This is just what a …

Excellent!

Loved it. Very chalky, a little funky as well. Petrol, lime and granny smith. A touch of RS but definitely on the dry side. Great acidity. Long finish with nice lime bitters. Fresh.

Nothing wrong with this, it just didn't stand out. Recognizable as riesling. Went will with food, well balanced, and it was opening up throughout the meal.

Riesling Rampage (Asquith, Australia) : Some late harvest rich character on the nose and tropical fruits. The palate is rich and has good length.

Not as crisp. A bit funky on the nose. Did improve over 30 minutes in the glass.

Beau riseling sec avec une certaine minéralité et bonne longueur. L'ensemble est légèrement disjoint mais quand même très agréable.

Two Days in Paris; 5/27/2011-5/28/2011 (Paris) : Decent, but this should be used as a foil for food rather than drank by itself - not sure that it is good enough for that. It did have a nice nose, with yellow flowers, lemons, green apples, musk and some minerality. The palate was really fresh. Again, some lemons, lots of sweet green apples, not fantastic depth, but nice balance and lots of zippy life with a nice mouthwatering finish touched with …

Waxy, tropical, and complex. Tight now. Unsettled as a wine.

Very nice but I prefer German Mosel for the lower alc, freshness and the light spritz mouthfeel. This has more an orchard fruit proflle with lots of peach and pear flavors. Very nice but not my cup of tea.

Nice petrol aroma with pear and apple tones. Good round flavors fill the palate with a chalky mineral finish.

Straw yellow with greenish hues. Intense honey, citrus fruit and petrol on the nose. Mid-bodied, round, with nice fruit, minerality and bright acidity. Long finish. Very nice and extremely versatile to pair with a large variety of dishes.

A reticent nose--bit of petrol, lemon-lime soda. A simple but elegant mouth feel--bit of white peach, white flower on the finish. Lacks fruit, but is great with food.

With some time open the nose gathers depth of "reisling" aromas--petrol, white flowers, this reflects the smooth palate, which is silky and bright. White peach and apples ride on lemon/lime into a very long finish.

More brioche, apricot and less flowers than the Weinbach. And the palate shows this difference as well. Richness and stone fruits maybe less 'purity' and 'grace' than Weinbach but certainly the exchange is ripeness, boldness and power. More to the finish in terms of weight as well. Just opened.

dry riesling (Waterford Wines Milwaukee) : Ben discovers ripe apricot in the nose and that is quite dead on. richer fruit expressed in the nose. vibrant medium acid and damn...i love this balance.

Nice balance on the fruit / sweet / acidity / perfume on the palate. The nose was a bit quiet but the palate is glorious right now. Refreshing and really wonderful palate. I am drinking this along side domaine Weinbach Cuvee Theo and O'Shea Scarborough Riesling. All profound in thier own way. This is more quiet on the nose and hsa a glorious palate.

S.F. Riesling Week Kickoff (K&L Wines, San Francisco) : Light yellow. Lime nose. Medium body. Dry, orange fruit, quite lively with mineral finish. Very good dry Alsatian Riesling.
