Delicate nose of rose petal, lychee, Meyer lemon, honey, beeswax, hay, chrysanthemum, and incense, leading to a juicy palate with soft apricot, Rainier cherry, mango, and honey character, a bit of sweetness, and plenty of mineral liveliness to keep things going. Dinner pairing – somen noodles and Japanese simmered vegetables – brings out a strong kerosene character as well, as well as more rosewater. A bit meh at first, but it really grows on me.

Wonderful aromatics of pineapple, peach, mango, guava, ginger and a hint of curry and other asian spices. Sweet with residual sugar but you also notice the acidity that gives a balanced wine within it’s category. Great chilled for interesting summer drinking. Still very much alive.

Wow very expressive nose of lychee, white and yellow peach, elderflower, apricot jam, slate, candied ginger, dried mango. Definitely hints of botrytised fruit. Palate is oily, viscous, and full bodied with low acidity and a fair bit of residual sugar. Finish is a bit short due to the low acidity. A delicious wine on a cool night.

CMS blind tasting Pours a clear medium straw, almost gold - but no rim variation. Slight evidence of gas. Aromas of tart citrus, rose water, green melon rind, candied melon, honey, honeysuckle flower, ginger and wet stone. MAYBE some oak? High intensity of aromas. Medium dry on the palate with medium intensity of flavors. Flavors are consistent with the aromas, except sweeter. Medium body with medium - acid and medium alcohol. Creamy and waxy. Drinks well now.
