Domaine Bernard Morey et Fils Santenay 1er Cru Grand Clos Rousseau

Delightfully mature raspberry and cherry flavors. This bottle was drinking very nicely but definitely time to drink up.

Powerful raspberry fruit with notes of savory, spice and a bit of earth towards the finish. This particular bottle has held up very nicely but as good as it is -- time to drink up!

This was the best bottle yet. Concentrated raspberry balanced smooth finish. Every time I open one of these old wines I am expecting the worst (cork, bottle variation, just too old, musty, etc) but this one was particularly nice. Down to my last few.

Unlike an earlier bottle tasted a few years back, this was solid. Dark mature fruits and a medium savory overlay. Balanced finish. Everyone liked it, even those who generally prefer younger more fruit forward reds. Very nice.

This mature wine has grown up to become a most average adult. Lacks depth and charm. It's thin, tart and a touch unbalanced. Bad bottle?
