Very similar to last bottle. Soft and elegant with raspberry, strawberry, even moving to boysenberry with a bit of tartness over a bit of soil. Lovely restrained CA Pinot.

It smelled like a musty basement as soon as I pulled the cork. It blew off a little but not completely. Disappointing.

Decangted for an hour. Deep nose and cherry fruit with bright acid and good depth. A touch of toasted oak on the long finish. Very nice pinot.

Consistent with 6/30/2023 note, including (sadly) still lacking that last bit of flavor intensity. Still a lovely, elegant wine that I wholeheartedly enjoyed.

Last bottle, this one much less good on the 2d day, somewhat less on the 1st. The nose and flavors are the same, harsher with tannin more evident, unbalanced against the fruit. I'm glad I drunk these up although I'm always curiosity of 'the end'. Can't wait, maybe you should.

Big Juicy Red captured it so no need to expand, only to confirm. Today is the 2d half after on Argon of the 11th bottle from a case kept at 56F. Agree with the notes, hard to rate 92, easy 91 (but I'm picky on points). One more to go, my view no reason to hold.

Really delicious, hampered IMHO only by a (perhaps) slight lack of flavor intensity. I bought a bunch of these on super sale and am loving them. Needs a good hour plus to open up, then soft and velvety mouth feel with a melange of flavors including wet earth, spice, savory notes, and maybe some red fruit and sour cherry. High acid, but not alcohol. Elegant, with good flavor distinctiveness, even though I can’t name them. Drinking very well right now.

Over time I drank 8 bottles, this the 9th, 1st half of a bottle. Medium body, balanced (high acidity 'blows off'), medium ruby. Pleasant, persistent, cranberryish nose. Middle taste with pleasant mouth 'feel', sour cherryish flavors, above average finish ... nice, not memorable. Without looking at notes I may or may not have written (just checked, not written), this vintage isn't quite up to better years. What would boost it is more richness in the middle and a longer finish. …

Pale ruby. Restrained on the nose but notes of overturned soil and red berries. A bit of a kick on the finish. Feels high alcohol, but it’s not (13.4%). I don’t think I opened this too soon. Don’t know how it will evolve. I was expecting a bit more brightness, a bit more fruit. Still a bit of a tannic edge to it. Well made but a bit austere.

This wine blew me away! It’s hard to describe all the nuanced complexity of savoriness, spice, fruit, earth, and flowers complimented by a wonderful salinity and minerality all packaged in great texture. I don’t know what it is but wow!! A few days later drove two hours to get the last three bottles of the 17’ at Party Source. Would love to try this next to their Campbell Ranch and Peter’s Vineyard bottling.

Typical Anthill Farms. Meaning, great with slightly tart cranberry notes. A mid-weight wine, with dusty cherry (good call MADEIRALEV) and pomegranate. Other CTers have said cherry cola and I get that. Very distinctive. An Antonio Galloni favorite of all the AF Pinots. This needs a minimum of 30 mins air and a slight chill and you're good to go.

One year after the prior: Dark, savory, with good acid. This shows typical Sauvage/pomegranate character that we often get from this vineyard. Happily, no obvious cola — at most, only a hint, contributing to complexity. Very enjoyable over three nights.

Sophisticated, nuanced old-world style pinot noir. Unusual aromatics reminiscent of dial soap (?), but in a good way if that makes any sense. Subtle notes of dusty cherry on the palate, and a lingering finish. It will be interesting to see how this one evolves over the next few years.

“OMG. This smells so good.” This is a floral wine, nicely perfumed with pomegranate, blueberry pie, sage and cinnamon. On the palate, the fruit is almost sappy but nicely balanced by lively acidity and fine, silky tannins. The finish is long and brings in briny and stemmy notes.

Bright garnet in the glass with some clarity. The nose is a bit restrained but shows notes of the cranberry to come. On the palate the initial experience is of fresh and tart cranberry, that continues through the entire tasting experience, along with cherry cola; underlying that fruit are pleasant mushroom and forest floor notes. The mild acidity and tannins are perfectly balanced, and there’s a medium finish. Our first Anthill but we’ll seek out more. Funny story, BTW. My …

Very tart red cherry, along with earth and barnyard notes on the nose. Medium bodied (13.2% ABV) with red cherry and red berries both upfront and through the middle. Mid-body shows some nice roundness, but the tart qualities on the backside overpower much of the wine. Not sure if the wine is flawed or simply past prime. But having tried a 2009 last year, this bottle lacked in fruit and the acidity was out of balance. Given this vineyard's general …

1t luft.

Has evolved from my first bottle 6 years ago. No longer flabby, this has the typical anthill flavor profile of sweet cranberry and cherry but leaning slightly towards the darker fruit side (for anthill). Not super high acid but now it's quite balanced. The nose is fantastic as well.
