Deep red with fruity notes it alcohol taste is really prominent at the back of the tongue and the wine is not really smooth enough to finesse it. Not bad but there are wines I like better for the same price.

Exactly as I expected. My guests loved it. Dominated by the petite sirah then the zin with the Syrah for a stretcher. Not my style, obviously.

fruity up front but after it decanted for awhile it took on a lot of caramel and raisin flavors. definitely need to pair with food. will hold up well to BBQ.

My family and I agree that this wine, with its smoky oaky aroma, is a perfect pairing with BBQ pork ribs.

Similar in style to Daou Pessimist: big, bold, a little too sweet. Some petite sirah and Mourvèdre in the mix. Party wine.

GSM+Z,PS blend. Dark red. Soft mouthfeel and finish. Distinctive flavor note on nose and taste but diminishes a bit with air and is fine. Still same on day two. Bottom line is that it’s good at it’s price point.

Deep purple in color; black cherries, vanilla, and cigar box on the nose; medium plus acidity, medium tannins; tastes like plums, cherries, and a hint of chocolate with a long finish. It's a little hot, but very drinkable. Nellie likes it.

So disappointed. Thought would try this edition after a prior disappointment with 11. Nothing has changed. For a wine area that is my favorite, makes it even worse. The dirty, biting flavor on the palette and finish makes this not enjoyable.

First of all, it's not Austin HOPE, it's just Austin. You have to search the fine print on the back label to find the Hope name at all. That said, it's a nice Cab at a good price ($20). No awards here, but good drinking that doesn't break the bank. Their regular Cab is now $55 and the Reserve is $101.

10 years in the bottle has not hurt this one, but it hasn’t helped much either. It’s still got a jammy mouth feel, with a nice herbal quality on the nose and finish. It’s just too sweet but, more importantly, the alcohol feels weighty and a bit ponderous. Still healthy and happy but there’s just too much there there...

I wanted to like this wine, I really did. Opened, tasted and thought, ok, let's give it a moment, so I did. I even tasted it again the next day. My impressions: sweet, cherry, syrupy, hot. It’s very seldom that I do not finish a bottle of wine, even over several days. This one was not finished.

Wow!!! What a pleasant surprise. Dark purple with a nose full of aroma and the mouth to match. A real steel at under $20 per bottle. Deep, rich berry flavors that linger on the palate long after you've swallowed. I will buy several more bottles of this to cellar, for parties and just enjoying when I want something more than just an every day bottle.

Pleasantly surprised by this one. Color is deep dark purple. Almost likea Petite Sirah. Decent nose. Doesnt blow you away, but there's something there to enjoy. Palate is smooth with a bit of complexity. Finish is short to medium. Agree with earlier comments about being a good large party wine.

The Rhone Rangers (City Winery, 155 Varick Street, New York, NY 10013) : The nose was rich with ripe red and black fruits and cocoa. On the palate, it was ripe and velvety with blackberry jam and vanilla. The finish gave more of the same with jammy fruit and note of toffee. It’s a good party wine but not to my taste.

Powerful nose, tons of fruit and vanilla. Edging toward purple drank. Paints the glass. Powerful, dark fruits once tasted. Strong, long acting structure. Not entirely integrated but not bad. Long finish.

Easy-drinking blend, medium body with nice GSM aromatics, a fruit-forward, spicy palate and a medium finish. Not jammy, and quite versatile with food.

A very fruity wine with deep burgundy color. Light tannins and acidity. Well balanced but lacked real standout impact. A good red for those who don't like darker reds like cabs or Merlots.

Winemakers Notes: Troublemaker combines elegance and power. Bright aromas of black cherry and licorice evolve into a stronger bouquet reminiscent of smoked meats. The wine shows amazing depth and intensity with a rich and textural mouthfeel. Complete with bright red fruit flavors along with hints of leather and cocoa, it is a well-balanced wine that culminates with an extended finish.
