Really one of the best examples of a long barrel aged PX sherry ever made. Rich dried fruit, cherries and raisins, tons of woody oak flavors from caramel to vanilla to baking spices like cinnamon and cardamom. Redolent with high toned acidity and a finish that just goes on and on and on. I’ll be looking to score more such wines without concern for the vintage. Finest dessert wine I’ve ever had.

Pronounced nose intensity with notes of molasses, caramel, maple, almond. Sweet and long finish.

Bottle opened 12/2024…still on fire, smoother than last TN, more rounded, creme brulee notes, delicious, in a tamed fully sweet mode now as any bite is gone, not sure the alcohol was even noticeable.

Just as exquisite as ever. Looking forward to the taste profile to develop as I pour half ounce pours for me and friends.

Bottle opened 12/2024…full throttle tonight, sweet treat. This was dessert at the restaurant for best friend bday. Everyone loves it, now especially cause its truly dessert in liquid form at this stage. Been pouring tiny pours (half oz at most) through bottle so far with over 15 people tried and some 2x, me 10x, with 6-8 more servings to go. Consider if you open to stay with the bottle as it morphs (kept at wine cellar temp) throughout its open …

Bottle opened 12/25/2024…just killer tonight, better than last round. Morphed fully it seems into just sweet fruit and so smooth, wow. The group loved, even those who never care for wine. Some tasting notes we mentioned were of fig, caramel, espresso w sugar. This is maybe as good as 1st open but different.

Bottle opened 12/2024...Cool night, needed a warming shot or 2, passed on whisky and chose the eldest of the basement gang. Lil fig, some spice and everything nice. This motor earl still going, but gonna wrap up this bottle in June for good. See it fading soon, its morphed through several stages and now is smooth and calm, bite near gone, and more of a dessert now cause it helped my sugar fix. If could describe first open to now …

Bottle opened 12/2024...about 4 months after opening the wine is holding well and went in for an Easter share. It is a bit more fruit driven now, with fig notes and sweetness. On the palate it seems softer and less acidic / less bite from 1st open. Will TN again...if it changes over next few months of wrapping this one up with all I can share some 1946 with. Just surreal to take months of time to enjoy a 1946 …

Viscous and delicious. Umami flavors turned up to 10! Thick molasses, jammy raisins and figs. Coats the wine glass. Do not pass up this incredible experience.

A real bucket list treat for all on Christmas. Half bottle remains. Most liked, few of us loved it, such great flavors going on. Helps to have a taste for sherry maybe. Served at the end of dessert. Incredible wine, so worth it!

Since I wrote a novella on this back in September 2021 (refer to that if you have 20 minutes to kill), I’ll spare all of you the pontification and simply say this is a real treat to try again (Thanks G!). Almost indescribable in its profile, it’s like cacao, burnt walnut oil, molasses, and wood smoke all got together and decided to take the deepest, darkest chasms of their souls, liquify them over the course of a couple of centuries, …

No much more I can add that hasn't already been written about this PX. Really incredible experience! About a quarter of the bottle has been sitting in my fridge since this was first popped and I've been going back to it. It tastes the same as the night I first popped it.

Tonight I finished the magnum originally opened in January that had been sitting on my kitchen counter since. Cocoa, marzipan, candied orange peel, fig vinegar, molasses, and so much more. This hasn't lost a step in the nearly 4 months it has been open.

From a magnum I opened six weeks ago (see my 1/25/24 TN) and has been sitting on my kitchen counter ever since (cork re-inserted), revisited occasionally since. Nothing has faded since. I could cut-and-paste. This might have gotten ever-so-slightly sweeter over the 6 weeks.

Agrees with others. Consumed over a few weeks. Multidimensional, layered, complex, structured. Hits all the right places when it comes to a wine with complexity. Signature flavors include toasted coco, resin, caramel, black molasses. Hints of citrus. A real treat.

The Roots Fund Charity Wine Dinner (Atelier - Chicago IL) : Magnum. So much here- caramel, fig, dark chocolate, orange peel, Marcona almonds, and lots more. Very good length, persistent finish. A great wine.

Black as midnight with brown edges under the light. Brown sugar and chocolate on the nose. Velvety and viscous texture with intense notes with notes of dark chocolate, lime zest, caramel, oats, and zipping acids. Lovely wine, quite unique.

Really incredible experience. The color, the thick, almost oily consistency--this is a surprising wine from the very beginning. Overwhelming raisiny notes at the very beginning give way to every imaginable secondary flavor. Think baking spices, molasses, dark chocolate or raw cacao nib, hints of mint, soy sauce (really), tobacco, prune, plum cake, etc. It's almost impossible for me to describe everything going on here, because every sip is just that little bit different. All in all, a really incredible experience …

Inpenetrable dark brown color. Dark cocoa powder on the nose. Intense, velvety textured dark chocolate with dried figs and raisins. Secondary notes of candied orange peel and amazing amaro notes. This is an intense sensory experience. Again, intense is the operative word, but balance is a close second. Amazing stuff.

2023 Athens Wine Event; 12/8/2023-12/9/2023 (Athens, Greece) : Tasted blind but pretty much all of us guessed PX of greta age. That ability to cover the wine glass to the point of changing its colour is a trait none but very old PXs have. Impressive wine and really so much alive and energetic, ( all these bottling were really bottled in the last facade or so , this being bottle 410 of 810 under the 46.2 bottling series) . Rich, …

Spectacular, velvety mouth coating pennzoil nectar. Tar. I can't describe the experience. Foie gras, blue cheese and panettone accompanied this most special wine. All 10 at the table were blown away

Super complex. Deep flavor, and yet still some fruit notes. Replaced a vintage port with this PX and was not disappointed. Shared WON with a 2009 Y’quem

This was awesome, for lack of a better word. Thick like syrup, with complex flavors - predominantly dried fig, molasses, coffee, and cocoa. Super long finish.
